I can take cuttings . . . ?

SWEET. Yes, Please. Oh, I need to tell you that a couple of the cuttings I sent were taken off the trees....so you are getting, actually, the kinds of cuttings we bring back from collecting!!! I find that the BEST way to get them rooted is: Get a shallow pot (I use anything from 2" deep to a large bulb pot). Lay the cuttings around the pots, without cutting them, with a shallow bit of media ... sometimes a weight on the nodes helps. You are trying to remind the cutting (and all of the little roots) that it can go back to the way it lived on the tree.... the whole cutting will root, and new growth will come from the nodes and the terminal end. Somewhere I have a tutorial and will look for it.... Carol Leap. The net will appear.

Awesome! That's the way I rooted H. curtisii. I used folded twist ties (bread ties) to hold it to the soil, until it rooted. Okay, would it be alright if I sent the H. compacta next week? I'm a bit short on funds for shipping, til then. :) Carolyn

Carolyns' H. compacta arrived in beautiful shape...beautifully prepared and shipped. Carolyn's huge cutting is the best example of a H. compacta!!!! I have seen. Really fresh and healthy! Anyone trading with Carolyn is in for a treat!!!! Carol Leap. The net will appear.
