DNA Testing is becoming very popular with Ancestry Enthusiasts. If you are participating in DNA testing, please chime in and let us know what's happening.

I did this for my Cobb line. I was pretty sure I was correct with the line but not 100 percent. Submitted one of my male cousin's dna. It helped me confirm that I was on the right track.

This is wonderful news. How far back does your Cobb family go Lisa?

I've been stuck on my Duke family at my great grandfather's grandfather (things get iffy after him) and would love it if I could convince one of the males to participate. I don't know enough about it yet though to even suggest it.

Can you tell us how in the world they can trace the DNA of our ancestors?

Well, we were kind of stuck around the 1920 period. We think we know where it goes from there. We are pretty sure it is a particular line. Did the DNA, and it does confirm the link within 5 generations. So, we are on the right track!!!! We just need to figure out which brother it was.

Reach out to God he loves you
The New Family Finder Test will cross both lines male or female back to 5 generations against those in the data bank. No longer does it have to be a male. It will cost you 285 dollers now and will probably go up.

If you have been tested for DNA...where did you have it done? My son just did it and we are trying to figure it out.

Lisa,

I have 43 Cobb's in my family tree listing. Morgan COBB (1562-1620) is my 10th great grandfather. If I can be of any help to you let me know. I too had a DNA done (on me), through Ancestry.com. Still don't know if it will be of any good to me until I figure out how it works since it is a Mitochondrial DNA as far as I know.

Donna

I had been dreaming about opportunity to know more about my ancestry, while I was living in NY. I didn't have much time, so just dreamt about it. But when I moved to CA, it turned out that dna services https://dnasu.com/ are located near my house. My neighbor had paternity testing there and I got to know that I could have ancestry test Smiling It's fascinating experience to be so close to truth. So my ancestry: West Europeans and inhabitants of Iberian Peninsula. I'm looking forward to travel there. To learn culture. It'll be absolutely unforgettable.

You're lucky to have such an opportunity! There are no dna services many miles from me. I'll make an effort and get some information about my ancestry. I guess, they are Mexicans. I feel it.
