My husband's Dad was in the military and spent a lot of time overseas. He bought these Gargoyles for his sons. My husband repainted the black frame a few years ago and they now hang in my bedroom, which had a Far East Decor.

My Dad was also in the military and spent time over in Japan and in the Philippines. When I was a little girl, he brought back this "China Doll" in a glass case. A few of the glass panes got broken and without thinking I got rid of it. instead of replacing the panes. She is now in my bedroom.

This is one of my favorite old family photos that show some of the home decor of the time. This is my Grandmother Mary Pauline Ash, her sister Hattie, brother Ellsworth and cousin Roy Wood. I think my great grandmother must have been ahead of her time. She was the one who took the photo and must have thought that the men in the family should share in the home tasks. Interesting to see all the old layers of wallpaper and the old china in the Ash homestead ranch house.Thumb of 2010-09-14/stilldew/b86625
