| Carol; you seem to have it all under control. I'm wondering if you can help me with at least a track. My ancestor is James Jarvis Bromagen (sp?) and his wife was Catherine Montgomery. I have heard rumors he was a brother of Elias Elijah Bromagen, and I 'm sensing there were others. As I haven't found much on him to throw any time at, might you have any intel and might you have a track from VA to UK for the Bromagens? Thanks Steve in IL/USA |

Sorry I've had health issues and not been here for a while so I haven't seen your query till now. It could well depend on roughly what period in history you are referring to. There is definitely an Irish connection and its a fairly Irish name all round. I can find a Michael and mMargaret born in the 1820s in Ireland who were in London in 1871 for example. There are also Bromagens in Wales in the 1840s but not many. I think your trail is probably to Ireland and that can be tricky pre 1860. Carol Carol |
