Let's see... we covered Ground Zero Mosque, circumcision, trouble in Cubit land, and lots more on the last one. C'mon and say it out loud on #2! In the end, only kindness matters. Art and Artists & The Reading Room http://cubits.org/thereadingroom/

Bless you! [Sorry, I couldn't help myself Thanks, Sheryl. I have little confidence in any enterprise or business or investment that promises dividends only after the death of the stockholders.

There's a wonderful piece on "What is Moderate Islam?" in the Wed. Wall Street Journal on the Opinion page. They asked 6 leading thinkers the question. I haven't read it all--I've got to get SOMETHING done around here today--but it looks very promising. I have little confidence in any enterprise or business or investment that promises dividends only after the death of the stockholders.

Is this it? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405274870336970457546... Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

I thought it was kind of amazing to see an article like that in the WSJ. Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

| I heard a newscaster the other day say that the whole Hullaballo at Ground Zero has actually increased a dialog of tolerance towards Islam. I don't watch TV so I don't have a good idea of what other people/ stations/ etc. are saying about it and whether or not the statement was accurate. In the end, only kindness matters. | I've grown to have more respect for the WSJ. Not that I necessarily agree with them, but I appreciate the tendency towards rational discourse. I think they've done an outstanding job of presenting many views & perspectives regarding the mosque in question, this just being one example. They've also done some very good investigative reporting recently with regards the Gulf oil spill. And web privacy (or lack thereof). They're as dismayed & concerned about the rise of the Tea Party as the next intelligent person. Though they've also printed opinion pieces from people in the party... and rebuttals. And at least they're upfront about their bias. I have little confidence in any enterprise or business or investment that promises dividends only after the death of the stockholders. |

Yeah, it's just money, money, money. Whatever helps make & keep money, they're for. I find they are such hopeless optimists about the 'market' it's kinda sad. Anyone not caught up in the thrill of gaming the system can see a crash coming, but the dominate voice of the publication is always.... things are getting better! Good times are just around the corner! This is only a little dip... oh, OK, it's not a depression yet! Lookie, the increase in unemployment isn't as bad as it was thought it was going to be! The Feds haven't raised rates! Frickin' Pollyannas. And oh! They were all over the SEC for not catching Madoff sooner... though somehow they failed to really ream Madoff... must be professional courtesy. I have little confidence in any enterprise or business or investment that promises dividends only after the death of the stockholders.

I didn't know there was a professional courtesy between crooks. Something new every single day..... In the end, only kindness matters. Art and Artists & The Reading Room http://cubits.org/thereadingroom/
