We have NEVER been able to interest Thelma in Tug/throw/toss... Louise was incredible...she had burried tennis balls all over the property for a chance game...but never tug. Dunno why. I look forward to reading those links....

They're videos, Carol. They don't go into how to transition from ball to tug, but that's available on the Leerburg site, I think. And I think it's in the DVD, too.
They do teach you how to 'target' the tug, so the dog grabs the right part, & not your hand or the strap (our problem). Choosing a good training tug. How to 'out' on command.
River & I had a great game of tug last night, once she started to catch on to the new system. I need to buy some different tugs. The ones she really likes are too short for this stage of training. I wish the pet stores sold them, but no, I'll have to order them. So we'll have to wait a while. I do have a firehose one, a leather one, and a plastic one that's supposed to be a floating dummy. They're the right size...

Thanks, Caroline.
Sweet DH is taking me to town to shop for a new toilet seat, a tractor tire and then lunch at the Astronomy Center. Can't think of anything more romantic except maybe a picnic at the Sewage Treatment Plant (one of his faves!!!).

Hunh? How'd you go from toilets to tractors?
We got RAIN! The T-storm came over our house... oh, it was so marvelous. And the air... I don't send an electric arc every time I touch something. Hope it helps w/the fires... there is a mandatory evacuation of Los Alamos in place now. That fire's up to 43,000 acres already.

Sheesh, Jay, you just aren't paying attention. Carol's DH was taking her out to buy a toilet seat AND a tractor tire. Somehow I don't see a tractor tire decorated with barbed wire tho.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

You guys are too much!!!
We had a great time...yes, really, we did!!!! Finally found a restaurant open for lunch on a Monday...walked down main street (4 blocks) and back to the car...picked up the tire, bagged the shopping at Home Depot and came home.
Wonderful!!! A day with Bob is more than my little heart could hope for and it was wonderous!!!
