All the forums are slow or inactive at this time of year.
Every one must be traveling or busy?
I should be busy, but we are having such warm weather--
-I'll just go for a long walk.

Oh yes...(you mean after 2 months of rain...a total of 10 feet...since Nov. 1). The days are longer by about 4-5mins on both ends...we do get the shortening of the days.... Rolling my eyes.

Hey.....Our days are getting noticeably longer. Spring is right around the corner!... Hilarious! ..

Sunrise 10:02 am, sunset 3:52 pm for a total of 5 hours 50 minutes of daylight.

Better than Fairbanks which is up to 3 hours 50 minutes and way better than Barrow which is still at 0 hours of daylight.

I haven't paid attention to day length, but we're in the mid-70's this week and it's really nice....

It always feels better,--- this side of the solstice for some reason.
We are likely to have more severe winter ahead, so warm spells
get us thinking "spring".

I am off to the mountains with my daughter and her family-------
so I'll wish everyone:

A Happy and Prosperous New Year and all the best in 2012.

Our winters down here skip back and forth from Spring-like to Fall-like to Winter-like. We never know what to expect...change is good from my point of view

Yes, Happy New Year. Boy, I hope it's a good one...lol...

For us sunrise was 6:50 am and 29 degrees. Today sunset will see us at 4:30 pm but that is better than yesterday. Each day it takes a bit longer for sunset and sunrise comes a minute or 2 sooner. So far this winter we have not had snow, just rain. For Ky that is unusual. Matter of fact it has been about 15 years since the area I live in has had more than rabbit tracks. And that is ok by me Smiling

I think we've only had one day of rain since April or May. At any rate, it feels that way. We usually have rain every day starting on Halloween. I'm so used to planting things in this season and just letting the rain take care of them that it feels positive unfair that I now have to water them every day until they get settled in.

Yes, we're having lovely 80 degree days, but I'm paying for it. Had to turn sprinklers on today, water bill will go up...sigh.

What it looks like here this evening....

It's cold here, unfortunately. Cold and dry -- hideous! The kind of weather that makes my face crack if I smile too much.

Mid-60's, no wind, and total sunshine here. 'Course we only had 2.4 inches of rain in all of 2011 - note the point between the 2 and the 4....
I wish you all a healthy and safe New Year....

It sounds like the world needs some method of evening out the precipitation over

Been here six years and still don't know what a "typical" year's weather is like. Seems every year a record or two is broken. Today a mild minus 6 Celsius. Last year minus 28 at this time.
