Hi, Ed!

I have left my cannas in the ground for a few years now and even though I do live in zone 8, it is in northern CA where it snows every winter and sometime doesn't start warming up until the middle of June. Last year it hailed on June 1st. My cannas have not bloomed since the first year I planted them, especially Tropicanna. Even the leaves don't show up until quite late. This year I dug them up and put them in pots until it warmed up and at least I saw the leaves and they grew bigger. The same thing with the callas.

Even though I am disappointed in the necessary extra work, the results have been much better and the callas bloomed for the first time in a long time. I have already dug and potted most of them except for some that are still emerging. Any other ideas?
