It's all about choices.
I just tried a new way to cook spinach....and think it would also be good with chard....

sautee 1/2 onion and 2 or 3 cloves of garlic chopped finely.
add 2 teas. red or white wine vinegar
add paprika and cinnamon -about 1/2 teas

I added the steamed spinach to this mixture and served. In a time/pan saving mode I think you could just add the spinach and cook until wilted. Chard usually needs to cook more.

Anyhoo....it was delicious!!! Rolling my eyes.

Carol, This is a combination I never would have thought of. Since I sometimes put nutmeg in my spinach, cinnamon doesn't seem that far off, but I would have never considered adding Paprika. Did you try it?

Hilarious! Hilarious! Carol, My poached eggs never turn out that pretty. I might make that recipe with Spelt which I like better than Quinoa. There is protein in the dish from the egg, so in this case, I don't feel the need for the protein punch of Quinoa.

I brown the kernels in a skillet first and then add a bit of butter and broth and cook it just like Arborio rice. Keep adding liquid as it gets absorbed and the kernels puff up. It's really delicious.
