Yes the extended ones, daughter came in from TN but without the boys this time, she is visiting with old friends and hanging out with Mom. I will have them here the next two weekends so am storing up a bunch of smoochies for them. Night Dixie Doo, Stay calm and keep chewing that gum.

When is your toughest smoking time of day?

Mine is the morning, I probably have to catch up for not smoking while I'm sleeping! When my mom quit smoking, they told her to drink a lot of fruit juice, it helps flush the nicotine out.

Lynnie said something on another thread (don't know which one..) about smoking being a lot like being a junkie. This is true. Although I don't know from personal experience, I do know a junkie... it is very similar.

Dixie, can you smoke at work? I can't smoke at my desk, I have to go out in the warehouse. It helps to cut down. Unfortunately, the other girl I work with smokes, so we say "ready?" and away we go. Gotta do something about that...

I find if I am in a situation where I can't smoke, it doesn't bother me. I don't even think about when I'm able to leave that situation and have a cigarette. So why doesn't that work all the time?? Grumbling

I am really sick of smoking!!

you must be equating the smoking with being social, Smiley.
I never said that about smoking being like being a junkie, i think Puff said her dr said that. The mechanism of addiction may be the same but the dangers of heroin are far different than the dangers of smoking. Think of finding out your kid is smoking.....now think of finding out your kid is doing heroin.
I did say some addictions are preferable to others....a heroin addict who is now clean but smokes cigarettes...I have nothing but repect for that battle. Or a diehard alcoholic who now only smokes....giving up the alcohol bought him more years than giving up the cigarettes. good years, not years of pain and disappointment.
actually heroin changes your brain's chemistry in ways that make your brain NEED the heroin.

that being said (don't you love that phrase) yes smoking is bad for you, it will cut years off your life and make you struggle for each breath, nobody should smoke.

I pretty much hate everything about smoking but smoking itself....I hate the smell of stale smoke on my clothes and hair. Ashtrays are just nasty...ashes seem to flutter about....but, that taste with coffee in the morning.....
