Happy New Year! ( rah! rah! )

Oh boy, is it cold! Moon, did you get snow? We don't have a lot of snow in the city Proper, but we sure do have a bunch of cold! The high tomorrow is supposed to be a big fat zero. ~0~ Brrr! It could be worse I suppose, I could be farther east.

Our furnace woke me up in the middle of the night (around 1:00am) on Tuesday. It smelled like an electrical fire coming through the vents. We went down to the basement and nothing... so DH turned the furnace off to be safe & when I got up it was 57° in the house. He called a guy and long story short they couldn't find anything wrong when the guy came & they fired it up. All he could figure was the filter DH had in there wasn't the greatest and maybe something burned up somehow. Weird... while DH was waiting for the guy he was looking out the window and an even longer story short, found out that our neighbor and buddy 2 doors down passed away. Crying His daughter said he passed away during the night. So here is our furnace waking us up and here's Mike passing away. Related? I would like to believe that he woke us up to turn the furnace off. Angel

How is JJ doing?

I had a thought and totally lost it. OH!

THE BILLS ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS !!!

Yay! smileywave! cheerleader! dancing smiley!

Happy New Year, Y'all. Hurray! Lovey dubby

Sorry about your friend's passing Smiley. Group hug But, yeah...coincidence maybe, but I tend to think things like that have a connection, especially when it is something that isn't easily explained.

We got over 4 inches of snow but that was on Dec 8th. Nothing but stinking cold temps down in the low 20's at night and mid 30"s during the day for the past week. It is supposed to start a "warming trend" with daytime temps in the 60's this weekend....and of course the ubiquitous rain. Grumbling at this rate I don't know when they can start work on the house. (head banging smiley)

Congrats on the Bills. Hurray!

Hi JJ Hope all is good at your house. Thumbs up Miss you guys... y'all stay warm and be safe.

What I don't know is why books are written.

Good morning! That would be considered a heat wave up here Moon. It is -3° right now. -3°! WTF.....

Moon, at least there's a plan in place at your house. Must be frustrating though, to get that plan and then have to wait. Once the weather breaks they'll go crazy on it.

We watched 'I, Tonya' last night, what a kick! Her mom ~ what a bitch...

Have a good weekend, stay warm and dry!

Good Morning to you Ms Smiley. Gee i miss GOTR!

No way i could handle that cold now. Everyone here has had a cold...sinus-y crap. Thumbs down I think I would lose 10 LBS if my sinuses drained... (Huge puke smiley)

Yup, a plan and money on the table....I know eventually it will all come together....

You stay as warm and safe as you can... Group hug

Huh... I thought I replied to this... a mind is a terrible thing to waste. (crazy face smiley)

I miss GOTR too! All those crazy little smileys to play with! I wonder if DH's website host lets you have more than one website. I'll have to check.

We're trying to plan our later-on. What a cluster-you-know-what! Our friend's memorial/wake is today, it is DS's birthday ( Lovey dubby ) and Katie's (not to be confused with Cutie) stepdad passed away. He was very sick, it's a blessing. But she's off the rest of the week so that shoots me leaving early. It wouldn't be an issue but the guys have a DEC inspector here and who knows when he's leaving. Eh, it'll work out somehow. Just thinking out loud.

I think our Kodi program on our fire stick said 'just wait until the Golden Globes are over and I'll let you watch all the movies you want'. I watched "Ladybird" the other day (meh), we watched "The Shape of Water" (good!) and are watching "Victoria & Abdul" but are only half way through that one.

Well, gonna go now, have a great day! (waving)

I have been known to lose track of what I was doing m'self Smiley....I know you are shocked by that admission... Whistling

I haven't seen/heard much about the first three, but I watched "Victoria and Abdul"..... I am a big fan of Judi Dench first and foremost....not so much Q Vic or John Russell and the slaughter of the Irish, etc, etc, etc. I loved her with Billy Connolly in "Mrs Brown" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119280/ ) and noticed she even mentions him in "V and A". Lemme know what ya think of this one....I will reserve commentary until you have seen it all.

Jim's last day is supposed to be Feb 5th....trying to keep him focused is not for the faint of heart. Rolling my eyes. I imagine it may be after the 5th before they get to work on stuff here....maybe then I can keep everyone on the forward path. Shrug!

My condolences to you and DH for the loss of Mike. Group hug Sorry to hear about Katie's StepDad, Happy Birthday to DS J....he is 4(?) years older than Ang?

Hope the rest of your week runs smoothly.... Thumbs up

Good afternoon!

We finished V & A last night. I enjoyed it, not sure how much is true, will have to google it. I love all things royal, I get confused after a while (not hard) on the procession of kings & queens. I mentioned "Mrs. Brown" to Bill, that is added to our list.

Jacob is 3 1/2 years older than Angela. He is 1/1990, she is 7/1993. I got him one of those "my pillow"s they show on tv. They had them on sale at Kohl's, I ended up paying $40 for one. I got one for me, too. That's a lot of money for a freakin' pillow, but I'm spoiled and really needed a new one. He sleeps exactly the same way I do.. it was a two-fer deal...At first I thought I wasn't going to like it, but I gave it a week and fell in love. Nice pillow.

Well, gonna head over to the book section for lunch, have a good day! I tip my hat to you.

As far as I was able to determine, V&A was mostly based in truth, but the movie did take a bit of license...poetic or otherwise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdul_Karim_(the_Munshi)

I think you will really like "Mrs Brown" as it is a bit kinder.but still holds true to the prejudices of the time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mrs_Brown

Have you seen" Philomena" another based in fact Judi Dench movie...as you can tell, I am a big fan of Dame Judi... Smiling

Hi JJ, sorry y'all have been under the weather. Group hug Dollar General is damn lucky to have you...you need a raise and a vacation... Whistling

We had a couple warm days and now we are going back to freezing weather Thumbs down still trying to shake this cold..guess it will be here till spring Rolling my eyes.

Y'all stay warm and be safe Group hug

Good afternoon!

Brr, it is cold here. Want to be our weatherperson, JJ? Big Yellow Grin Are you in the deep freeze also?

It seems like that's what the younger crowd does nowadays - just doesn't show up. It's the easiest way to deal with it, and I blame parents. Let's make everything easy and fun for the children... where's the stick whack smiley?? Blinking

I did see Philomena, and liked it very much. I was trying to think of another 'name' movie she was in, had to IMDB it: Iris. Did you see that?

I still have my head cold also. I think my ears are sick.. thinking of making an appt, they are better but still hearing weird.

Have a nice day! I tip my hat to you.

Thanks JJ, me too. Of course gotta convince DH that we have to get some things done so the workers can start...like trying to start a fire with wet wood.. Whistling

How is your Mom? Hope everyone is doing better...I am barking like a seal, but no fever and it is getting better.

No Smiley, I haven't seen Iris, but it is now on my must see list. Thanks. I loved her performance in both of the Marigold Hotel movies and have watched "As Time Goes By" series a couple times. Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Helen Mirren are 3 of my favorite actresses...classy ladies all three. Thumbs up

Is Katie back in the office? So much going on....scary times with Mr Trash Mouth....

Y'all be safe and stay warm. Group hug

Good afternoon!

I hope your bark gets better, Moon. Oh! I have your necklace on today. The one you got in Australia, I think. It matches my outfit perfectly. Thumbs up

I love the Marigold Hotel movies. And you must have seen The Hundred-Foot Journey, I'm sure. I love all 3 of them also.

Katie is back in the office now. I am leaving early today, we are going to see MIL. She refused physical therapy so they moved her to a SNF. So now she is wheelchair bound and refuses to eat. DH said (according to SIL) she is down to 80 lbs. She was always petite anyways, but that's not good. Crying

Mr. Trash Mouth... you are too kind.

Have a good day, stay warm and dry! Group hug

Yup, saw and loved that one too. Sending good thoughts for Bill's Mom. She is in her 80's? Sometimes they just get settled on things being their way and there is little you can do. As for the moniker...the only other nice thing I could think of was Little Donnie Dung Beetle...like a really bad kid's book...Little Donnie Dung Beetle and how he pooed on America.... Sad

HAH! It worked! Hurray! I had to go online to where we can see our security cameras, find the one pointing to the parking lot, do a 'print screen', open 'paint' and paste it in there. Voila!!

So that is my day.. hope yours is warmer.

After 3-4 days of being under hard freeze warnings and school/business/bank and gov't office closures, the interstates are open again and we may actually see a high temp of .....drum roll.... 50 degrees! and the crowd goes wild Hurray! Thumbs up

Stay warm and be safe....I could not handle that kind of cold. I would have to learn to hibernate...at least that would be a reason to gain weight... Whistling

Was 43 today but windy so felt colder.
We had a warm spell last week so Dh did get most Christmas decorations out of the yard. Hurray!

We have a "Big Day" date....DH retires on February 5th..... Maybe then he cvan finish a few small things and the contractors can get started. Thumbs up

You guys stay warm and be safe. Lovey dubby

Good afternoon!

Are you celebrating, Moon? Brunch somewhere, and then let's get to work? Hilarious! Your life is about to change, lady...

We have a heat wave going on too. All that snow in the above picture is gone, rain has taken it's place. I am way ready for spring also, this crap is a pain in the butt.

Have a great day!

Somehow DH thinks retirement means travel...he has us going to New Orleans and Austin in February, Sacramento in April, Hawaii later in the year and Australia possibly for Thanksgiving/Christmas....none of that takes into account finishing the house.... Shrug! Guess I get to be the bad guy, but first things first... Whistling

Supposed to be near 70F today.
