Spring came early for us this year. The temps are still cool in the morning, warming up into the seventies in the afternoons. We finally had some much needed spring showers so now I am waiting for the May flowers to show their faces.

What does the berry look like on the huckleberry?
The flower looks a bit like a blueberry flower

The blueberry is pretty! The huckleberry, or Sparkleberry is a smaller and darker purple berry! This years many of the bushes bloomed that have never bloomed before! They have a sweet scent too... I was kinda hoping some of them turned out to be some sort of wild blueberry, like rabbiteye blueberry! But I like the name, Sparkleberry.

Well I have to chuckle that today is the first day of summer! It's been hot so long already, it seems.

The comfrey has big beautiful green leaves but no flowers yet. We had a rainstorm blow thru last night, first rain in a month! Bet it may have energized the garden...

Lovely pretty in pink flowers, ladies! Pink zinnias came back from last year... although some came up red! Not complaining!
