| It has been quite a while since I updated this thread. The ulcer healed over and we thought all was well. Unfortunately, 8 days later it errupted again worse than before. He was having fever and chills and his blood sugar and BP were through the roof in spite of heavy doses of meds. He was admitted to the hospital and had a toe amputated. He was in the hospital for a week. Last Tuesday he completed another 6 week round of infusion of IV meds and HBO. He now holds the record for the most dives in the hospital's hyperbaric oxygen chamber, 110. Thursday he went back to his foot doctor and had a skin graft done. The foot looks great. The doctor is very pleased with it and is expecting good results from the graft. With the infection clearing up DH's BP and blood sugar levels are staying down. In fact, DH has had to reduce his insulin doses because his glucose is dropping too low. I want to thank you for your prayers and support through this very difficult and scarey time. I could not have survived it without you holding me up in prayer before the Lord. |
