You know, Jo, I must be a contrarian. I went to an acupuncturist years ago for that very same reason. Whatever he did made every cigarette I smoked delicious, just like the one after your first cup of morning coffee. I had to go back to him and have him remove what he had done because I started smoking twice as much as before.
My brother-in-law had been smoking for about 40 years when he had a heart attack and needed bypass surgery. The heart surgeon said he wouldn't even take him on as a patient unless he stopped smoking. My brother-in-law dutifully stopped smoking, gained 40 pounds, and developed diabetes. The diabetes meds kept conflicting with his heart meds. The heart surgeon eventually asked him to start smoking again. He now smokes, no longer has diabetes, and has no problems with his heart meds. Sometimes smoking is the lesser evil.
Possible...I think the staple in the ear is used for weight control also ( I could be wrong), not a lot of room on that lobe to be a bit 'off' in any direction...lol..Maybe the staple in the ear deals with addictions in general....food, smoking...
