Well that is the best lead for a new thread that I have seen in ages! Must tell you it is a bit intimidating as about the only thing I could grow in my bra would be something from Anjl's miniature gardens lol!

Doris...What if anything did you do to the bra to make it weather tolerant? Is there soil directly in it or in pots that are tucked in the bra?

I thought about using one of those plastic shoe holders that go on the back of a door to use as a living wall. LOL. I don't know if it would work, but you could fill each pocket with some light soil and place Sedums and Semperviums or even strawberries in them. I wonder if it would work. Hmmm.

Sounds good, it would probably last one year. What are you going to hang it on, A fence? Are you going to try it Clint??

I don't have a fence. I'd like to try it but don't have a place to hang it. Maybe my dad does. Petunias would look good too.

Well I got it!

This is funny! I have such an amazing man in my life and I ask him to do so many crazy things and he just doesn't seem to have a problem! We were going out to dinner tonight and I asked him if we could pick up the toilet on the way and he thought it would be just fine! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

This is the wierdest part though...Being a builder, I built this house about 13 years ago on Spec! I actually picked out this toilet for the guest bath! I like black toilets! But I actually rang the doorbell to see if they minded if I took it! Hilarious!

This nice lady answered the door talking on her cell phone! During a pause in conversation I asked if I she would mind if I took the toilet. I heard her say...can I call you back...with this very perplexed look on her face!

She turned out to be the daughter of elderly parents who had bought the house off my original owners and not only did I tell her I was the builder, but also told her I was a garbage picker who wanted their discarded toilet!. I did explain I wanted it for a planter, but I'm not sure she believed me! She told me it was missing the lid because her Dad dropped it by mistake and if that's why they were getting rid of it, that's too bad!

I think it's going to be a great pedestal for my "person"...stay tuned! I was kidding around with my Gals in the office today about it...wait until they hear I actually picked it up!!!

Haha, I love it that you talked your man into picking it up on the way to dinner. Did it sit in the back of the pickup while you munched your meal?
Thumbs up

This is a great thread! I love the idea of a planter person! Somewhere I saw where someone had used old levi's as a planter. I'm not sure how you'd weatherproof them, tho.
I have an old barbeque than I plan to fill with flowers this year. Just got to get DH to remove a few pieces from it so I can paint it. I have a toilet planter in my garden, too! But nothing as creative as what I've seen here! Hilarious!

I found something though called "Paverpol"! It's a substance that turns fabric rock-hard! Has anybody ever heard of it? It apparently dries within 24 hours and will totally cure in 2 weeks! It was originated in the Netherlands and there are distributers all over the world. I'm so intrigued by this and think I could make an entire person with it! The key I think is making a substantial armature or skelton and wrapping it with fabric and coating it! After it's cured you apply a waterproof varnish to seal it! (Something like paper mache or decoupage but in a bigger form!).

http://www.paverpol.com/index.html

I'm thinking of using some PVC for arms and legs and possibly shaping a body out of grocery bags stuffed with newspapers and formed over with chicken wire and tin foil! Maybe a couple of planters to form her boobs! LOL. I'm still trying to figure out how to attach one of my heavy planter heads! I might have to make her a planter head!

And all this sitting on a TOILET!!! (I might have to add some gem-stones to that black pedestal!)

My Dear Don...Think's I've actually lost my mind! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

But I think it's going to be so cool! It's not one of my 1 day projects!

Really good thing is - This stuff is really pricey and I have no idea how much it's going to take and if I really screw-it up I don't want to spend a lot of money! However, I was surfing the net last night and found this place that is discontinuing selling Paverpol and was doing a clear-out of their stock - What usually cost $39.95 a litre was priced at $9.95 - The only thing they had was Terra Cotta, but that's fine! I bought 5 litres.

Wish me luck!
