My Mom used to crochet these beautiful doilies. She would starch and form them and they would stand up and be so frilly! They were so pretty and would be hard until it was time to wash them again. I was really young at the time...but does Sugar-water ring a bell?
Kathy I swear there are three of you; where on earth do you find the time to do all the things you do. I had not heard of Paverpol but it sounds like a great idea.
We're all waiting with bated breath f to watch you build this person!
John I loved the article about the Memory Garden in Alaska.
I wish there were 3 of me sometimes Hetty! I thought maybe you would have heard of Paverpol - it really looks good! I'm still trying to figure out how to put the body together. The toilet moved out of the driveway today though - that's a start! hehe
Well, I have to say that I've been doing a lot of thinking about the toilet lately! hehe. I just received my Paverpol and need to buy my pvc for the frame of my planter person this weekend but I've convinced myself that this nice lady I create shouldn't be sitting on a toilet!
So I planted it today! I This is one great planter! I surrounded it with existing pots of petunias and it looks like it's been here forever! I'm calling this my "purple corner"
Charleen - You are definitely the Queen of Whimsy!!! I LOVE IT! The Camelia mulch idea was absolutely fantastic and those are so cute!!! I think you need to sell them! "Plantfocals" "Floraliners" "Plantwhimsy" "Florawhimsy" "AmphCircles"...whatever! They're great!
Thanks Everbody! If somebody told me a few weeks ago I would have a toilet in my yard as a planter...I would have told them they were totally nuts! I love “whimsy” but most toilets I see in a middle of a lawn are just pure tacky! Maybe because it's black...it really fit in. I have my trash radar out for a "pedestal sink" now!
I think I need to make a sign though to hang on the tree behind it!
LOL CLINT.. kAT i LOVE IT/
here is the new black purse container this year.. I took the black ees out and they are in another container at the bottom of the tree hibiscus..
since this picture, I have added some yellow creeping jenny and some lime green trailing sedum. oh and a couple small woodland violets.

My bathtub planter is currently my next project. last year it was full of I. batatas gold and black. This year I planted about a thousand babys breath seeds in it to get a look of soap bubbles .. they are starting to pop up. ( I tend to plant from seeds, cuttings or starts)
