Ahhhh...so good to see you Sharon! I'm glad to be here too!
I'm not an overly emotional person and I just didn't think that closing cubits would effect me so much, but last night I had a few tears. Everything all just came together and I suddenly missed everybody and everything.
I thought I'd be fine, but last night I was very upset. It was like losing an old friend, or even more like the ice storm we had last year and I was cut off from everybody and everything...for 10 days. No phone, no cell, no TV, no internet. It was a scary feeling, maybe moreso because I live alone except for my cats and they don't talk. Much.
If it happens again, I'll probably feel the same way. And even though I added over 400 names to my email list, email just isn't the same, you know?
So yes....it was a little unsettling to realize how tied I was to Cubits and all my friends here. DG is no longer the same.
I echo those sentiments.
Lovely Caladiums, too.
I visited Fred the other day and he has some amazing caladium plantings in his beds; must have had hundreds of bulbs. His GIANT Taro is back too..

Kathy the leaves are smooth. I saw this plant growing around a water fall at cypress gardens. Thought maybe I could check with somebody there and found they closed last September, so sad.
Susan...I'm so glad you found it! I have never seen that plant. Very nice! I started looking up things for you and didn't know where to start. I started with "leopard plant"...
Good to see you again! WOW! How beautiful is that? Did you ever use it as a fountain? I think I had mine going for about 3 months and it was such a hassle filling and constant electrical problems. Finally just filled it in and it is such a great planter.
Glad to hear Fred is doing well Hetty and his plants are coming back! Hope you're enjoying the weekend. Some real nice weather we've been having but it's gone from one extreme to the next. I just heard on the news that this May was the 2nd hottest in history??? And didn't we have the coldest winter? Who knows???
By the way I've been acting, you would have thought I was slaughtering my favorite animal! But it really is a pretty Kale plant!
I really couldn't find anything as far as recipes go with Kale and Smoked Turkey...so I kind of did it the way I would Collard Greens except the Kale was so much more tender and didn't need to be cooked as long. OMG though...it was SO GOOD!!! I'm planting Caladiums to replace them!
Container Gardens are one of the fastest growing segments of gardening these days. Come on in and share ideas and gain some new ones.Everybody is welcome!
