Jeri: On the Geneology thing - I did a quick search and there are quite a few original documents in Ancestry.com for Emile LeSage.

It has been raining off and on here all day! I had all good intentions of getting some garden work done, but when you go out after the rain it's like an encephilitis pit with all the bugs! It's nasty!

All this rain has been really good though as I haven't had to do a lot of watering. I've had some strange Fungi popping up in my pots though! (it's so humid my lens is fogging!)

Has anybody grown Dischidia? (Million Hearts plant). It sure is making good hair! Cool Plant!

I also have to show you the pot I picked up at Sams Club the other day! Need to find something good to put into it! Smiling

LOL Susan.
Kathy that pot is asking for something low like one of the lower growing Agaves or an Echeveria.

Hi, guys! I think I drove through that storm yesterday evening coming back home!
I used to perm (straighten) my hair with chemicals, but got tired of having to use the curling iron every day My hair has never grown long enough to do a pony tail or to pin back successfully, so this woman in Georgia uses a different type of chemical on my hair, puts in on rollers, uses some type of "locking" chemical so that my hair is always curly now. No more curling iron. Whereas the humidity used to straighten it; now it just helps to keep the curl in! I traded using the curling iron every day to wash and wear hair. I suppose someone here in Fort Myers could do it, but I don't want to try a new hairdresser that will be using chemicals that could leave me bald, if she doesn't do it right.
Kat, thanks for the new thread. It was getting to be pretty long scroll!! (not to mention having to look at all those food photos every time!!!
Sharron, hope that shoulder is doing better!
Take good care all!

I'm back!!!! Whistling Whistling

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!! We had so much fun at our Crusin Cajun rally!!! It was wonderful seeing old friends and making new ones!!!! We don't meet during the summer months so this was our 1st meeting in 3 months. We had 115 motorhomes at this rally. Our surprise at the dance was Ms. La. came and showed us her routine for the Ms. America contest she graciously signed autographs and took pictures with the members that wanted to. She was collecting money for the Children's Miracle Network. Our club raised $3400.00 in about 15 minutes. I am so proud of what we were able to do for that wonderful organization. Then everyone pigged out on hors d'oeuvre that each coach brought before the dance began!!!! We go to Shreveport, La. in 2 weeks for our 6 state rally. There are suppose to be over 700 motorhomes at that one.

Kathy thanks for taking the time to look up my great grandfather for me!!! That was very thoughtful of you!!! I'm gonna go check it out myself!!! It use to embarrass me when my parents and grandparents tried to link ancestors with all my friends. But being raised in a small community and living there now as an adult, I finally get it!!! LOL!!!!

Marianne: I'm still trying to wrap my head around your Georgia trip. How long did it take you to drive there? You must have one heck of a lot of energy as I probably wouldn't wouldn't be able to face an appointment at 7:00 am for hair, no matter where it was! Hilarious!

The drive to Waycross from here is about 6 hours each way, give or take. She started on my hair at 7:20 and was done at 11:30. It's beginning to be a grind in my old age, but worth it every day thereafter. I've decided after this trip that I won't ever go there just to get my hair done again, I'll have to go there either on my to or from Maryland from now on. I won't need to get my hair done again so soon, but I think I'll be making a trip to Maryland again in a couple of weeks. I may even fly this time!
Glad you're back Safely, Jerri!
Kat, I have a pot of that 'hair', but it's hanging from a branch of my Kapok tree.
Guess I'll go out to see if my ground is solid enough (after the recent rains) for me to cut the grass with the riding mower; I sure hope so!
Take good care all.

Well Good Evening Everybody!

What have you all been up to? Not much new here except it was like Grand Central Station here this morning. Its Cleaning day so Isabelle is here and I get a little work out as I clean with the cleaning lady! My Electrician showed up because I have undercounter lights not working. Pool cage people were here to look at the roof panels that are flapping in the wind -They're thinking of climbing up and not using Scaffolding! Arrrgghh. BugMan was here. I had a bunch of things to do this aft and it was just a busy day!

I have to say though, I have one of the sweetest men in the world!

Monday, Don showed up at home around 11:30. I'm like...what are you doing home? He told me he forgot a couple things. Well, when I left to go to my office a little while later, I got in my car and noticed all this stuff on the passenger seat. I couldn't figure out where it come from and got a little scared as it looked like my passenger window was down. On further inspection though...the entire car was immaculate...my hands were sliding off the steering wheel. You know that good Armarol feeling? The window wasn't open...it was just really clean! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Don had taken my car and had it all detailed. It's like brand spanking new! What a nice surprise! I think it actually run's better, now that it's so clean! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

What do you make for Dinner??? That's a question I face most nights and it's a good thing I like to cook! It's not Don at all. He would be happy with anything - going out, ordering in. He loves good food but is also very considerate. I suppose it's something in my head only. I grew up in a small family where my Mom cooked wonderful meals everyday. We didn't have fast-food back then, other than the odd chinese or fish & chips and that was special occasions. I'm getting more relaxed, but I still like putting something good on the table.

I stopped at Publix tonight and am thinking, what should we eat? We've had plenty of beef and seafood this week. I'm checking out the chicken and came across "chicken livers". I HATE Beef Liver, but l LOVE Chicken Livers! What is really amazing is that the package (1.5lbs) cost $2.50 Smiling

I suppose it's something that you have to like, but I chopped them into bite-sized pieces, fried them with onions, garlic and bacon and added some olives and red wine. What a great meal...Paired it with a little Aglio-Oglio Pasta (oil/butter and garlic), some crusty bread and a nice glass of wine - You can't beat it!

One of the best things I've ever eaten was in a Greek restaurant up in Portland Maine. Rabbit livers and kidneys. They called them Offal meats. Definately NOT Awful! My Chicken Livers tonight were a distant 2nd but good!

I don't think I've mentioned this in the past...but I'm a rabid RAYS fan! The Rays are our Spring Training team here in Port Charlotte and I just LOVE going out to those games.

Our little Rays are leading the entire American and National League right now! They are a very young team on a meager payroll compared to others. You just have to love them as they are playing their hearts out!
