| Thank you all for such encouraging and wonderful support. I'm not a whiner or complainer but this last month has been a killer! Some of the things that have happened you would "laugh out loud" at and I'm now realizing when I talk to others that I'm not the only one that's having a hard time in these tough economic conditions! It just bothers me that I've worked so hard for 32 years in the same business and things are not looking good. I'm trying everything I can and Cubits has been a great help as I just set up another website (property database for my business) for my customers who may hopefully buy some land. Property Database. I totally omitted my name, as my Customers definitely don't need to know about my antics on Cubits! Marianne! That is just the sweetest little dog! I used to have a poodle and I can tell you that they are the smartest dogs you will ever find! Please, please post some photo's! I also loved you photo's from Egypt and am so happy that your trip was planned before all this crazyness! Arrrrgghhh! Loved the photo of the highrises with the Pyramids in the background! Unreal! Hope everybody is doing well and I hope to get out and clean up my yard and plant some new containers when this crazy cold & hot weather starts stabilizing! Take care Kathy |

| Also welcome to Linda (taters55). Thank-you for joining us and it's nice to see you here! |

| Hello Kat, It's so good to have you back with us. Things get a little too quiet when you aren't around. ![]() |

| The reality of this economy is hitting some people just now; friends of ours have run a very successful store here in Naples for 25 years, and will likely have to declare bankruptcy before the year is over. It's tough all around and I'm sorry you're experiencing this too, Kathy. But, as resourceful as you are, I'm sure you'll pull through one way or another. Come on folks And Kat, don't be a stranger!! |

| Thanks, Kat! He is such a little lover! He wakes me up with a "whine" anywhere between 4 and 6; I take him out for about 10 minutes and then he gets a 'tart' for being such a good boy and then we both jump into my bed where he chews on a nylabone for about 10 minutes and then falls asleep in my arms. He's asleep next to me right now! I've had to take him out w/o a leash and he stays close to me, does what he needs to do and comes quickly when I call him. I could not be happier with a new puppy. I think part of it has to do with his being 4 months old when I got him. The breeder had hopes of showing him, so she'd already begun socializing him. He gets groomed Saturday and neutered on the 16th. I know I'll be a wreck just thinking of him going under the knife! Later, I'll upload a photo Hetty took of us at Fairchild, unless she does it before I get around to it. I can't upload photos on my iPad! Take good care all! Jake's mom |

| Thanks for the welcome to the thread! Praying that this year will be better for all of us! Wow, I was just looking at your database, and prperty is really cheap in Florida. A lot here in Texas starts at $5000.00 and goes up from there. Most of the lots sell for $20,000.00 and that is with no improvements. Praying it sells for you! |
| Thanks for the good words, encouragement and advice. I appreciate it! And maybe Linda your prayers are working...I think I sold 6 of my properties today! Best day I've had for a while! Property prices are crazy here in Florida Linda. Some of the lot's I'm selling now were going for $20,000-$30,000 just 5 years ago. I've offered them to my customers at rock-bottom prices because I'm land rich and cash poor! What can you do? Some have back taxes payable and I would rather sell them cheap and get a little something out of them, than nothing at all. If somebody told me 5 years ago this was going to happen I would have told them they were crazy. I'm a strange kind of person and work in weird ways...I've always been able to overcome any obstacle in business and keep on going. This is different and it's knocked me on my butt! It's finally deflated my ego and self confidence. However, I'm not the only one! I've recently met up with a few local people lately that have been successful in the past and are in the same position. I feel better to know I'm not alone, and am feeling much stronger to try to hang on! |

| Kat, so glad about the sales today!! I've been sending good thoughts your way. Marianne, you are the luckiest person to have Jake and he is lucky to have you. I've always wanted a small poodle. Good for you! I can't wait to see more pictures. |

| Hi Sharon! Good to see you hon! Hope things are well for you in this chilly weather! Marianne! Yes...we need to see pics of Jake! Did I ever tell you the story about Ziggy and Zara and how I was bent, bound and determined to crate train them? So, I drive over to the East Coast and pick them up from their breeder in Miami: - I buy a crate and neighbors give me another one for my office! The first night enjoying their new crate: ![]() They slept so well the first night... ![]() Then the crying started...I even put the darned crate up on the bed! This went on for a week. Finally, I took them out and they looked so cute on the bed! That was the end of the crate training! ![]() Got to warn you though Marianne...I wake up with sore bones accommodating Ziggy who needs to be constantly touching me! Zara sleeps on a pillow behind Don's head and they're both the same color! haha |
They're 11 years old right now and have brought me so much joy! I used to carry them around in my pockets!![]() Marianne - You might think about getting Jake used to a carry-bag! These guys still love it! ![]() |

| That is so so sweet, Kat. Well, it's cold. It was 0* when I got up this morning and we had 1 inch predicted for the week but got 9 inches with 2 back to back storms. Very unusual for this part of KY. We haven't had a snow storm since the late 70's. We even had what they called 'frozen fog'. I'd never seen it before, I felt like I was in a snow globe and couldn't see through it. I have cabin fever. It's about to get on my last nerve. |
| Oooh, Sharon...Ice fog...cool (pun, not intended) unless you are driving in it. Common up here in Jan/Feb. Just get your catalogs out and buy some seeds, bulbs and tubers...takes the edge right off of that last nerve. |

| Good to see you posting Kathy, and so glad that sales are picking up. Funny stories about your dos!! You all may know that we have two foster cats here. We had never had cats before, and so the adjustment to my DS's two cats since August of last year had been great. Now, however, they are a part of our household, and DH and I were just talking last night what we would do when DS wants them back, which he will, in due course, depending on his living arrangements. I have today off and have plans for some gentle yard work!! |

| Morning everyone! Kathy, glad the prayers helped, and I will continue them every day for you! Awe, look at those precious doggies! They are so cute! These are our temps for the week-end. Can't complain too bad! Fri 54° | 25° Sat 63° | 29° Sun 72° | 41° Mon 74° | 47° |

| Got a huge haul of about a dozen large bromeliads this morning, all by the green trash at some rich person's house.... Most of them are Guzmanias and some were just coming into bloom |

You recognized that and moved forward to make the necessary changes to devise a plan of attack to turn things around. YOU are the same strong savvy business woman that has always made you successful and pull out on top. You are right, there are many suffering through these troubled times but you are a survivor and winner. I so admire you, a wonderful example for us all. Congratulations on your recent sales  (knocked on my butt |

| It's 16* now, and moving upward, that's a few degrees better than the 0 of yesterday. I might survive. Hi Barbara, yes, Ava sent me photos of Alaska's frozen fog. Glad my trip there was in June! Nice haul, Hetty. It should be in the mid 50s here by Sunday, and that's much more normal for February. I think I will survive. Wishing more great sales for you today, Kat!! |

| Happy Valentines Day! Don't eat too much chocolate today! Marianne |

| Sharon, I don't think I've ever seen frozen fog, or is that another name for snow? Kat, you know I love Ziggy and Zara!; and I did purchase a carry bag for Jake, but he kept jumping out of it so fast that I figured it was too small for him. A friend gave me hers, which is much deeper, but Jake jumps out of it just as fast. He just doesn't like being in them!! He was groomed on Saturday. I said I love the cut he has now so only cut about 1/2 " off; I like his hair long. No rubber bands or bows on his head and absolutely no nail polish! I'm sure this groomer was waiting for me to tell her how cute he was when I picked him up, but it was all I could do to hold back the tears! I said nothing negative to her because when I dropped Jake off she'd told me that one of her dogs had died that morning. Jake has hardly any hair on his head now, which makes him look like he has no head almost and the body cut is not the same as he had before. Guess I'm going to have to learn to use clippers! (or take Jake back to his breeder in Texas to be groomed!) Take good care all and don't eat too much chocolate! |
