Hi Katg - I really love your containers ~ all of them.
I too love the Apostle plant but I can't seem to find good growing information for them. I ordered one online last fall, a beautiful, healthy looking plant with nice leaves; however, the leaves began to yellow so I cut them back and planted it in a raised bed. I'm unsure how to fertilize or how much sun it wants (or not). Could you please let me know how to make it happy & look like yours? I'd so much appreciate it.
Also, looking for your recipes for container soil mix and haven't found that either. Thanks so much, heading outside now to plant & re-pot ~ yea, spring is here in S.Texas!
Name: Carol Noel Hawaii (near Hilo) It's all about choices.
I have various Neomaricas...and all get lots of water and are in well drained soil. I've seen them growing as hanging plants indoors, as well, and it's really interesting. The most healthy bunch of them are growing in partial shade(not much) and are really thriving....
Thank you Carol - that sounds like the condition & location of my Iris ~ I wasn't sure what to do with it during the winter - we're usually not too cold here in So. Texas, but sometimes we will get a norther that is brutal & that's what happened this year. It went to 19 (F) degrees and stayed there for almost 3 days. The plant was in the house under lamp lighting on a baker's rack which is where I try to winter over some plants including orchids. Should I fertilize it? Or use Super Thrive or maybe nothing? Thank you,
Ruth
