i use this mehtod all year long. i have holes drilled through both sides at the top of my containers. i put a soaker hose through all he containers and then attach the hose to a timer and then the timer into the faucet. i set it to go off each day at 8 am and shut down at 10 am. it works fine for me. i might hav a picture of the set up
