Ric, when I saw the name of this cubit, I knew you had to have been the one who started it!

I wish I'd seen this before I started the remodeling cubit. Is there a way to combine them?

Janet I'm not sure.

Is it basic remodeling or DIY?

I think there are going to be many duplicates in the coming days.

Well it's a major overhaul of our kitchen. My husband did 95% of the work including building the cabinets.

Cool!

My thought was a Cubit for DIYers w/o much money or experience.
Resources, etc..

Well money we don't have anymore of, but he's got buttloads of experience. He's a carpenter. :-) I think for the time being I'll leave it and hope there's room for both. If there is a conflict down the line, perhaps we can combine them. :-)

Janet

ps I saw your hottub project and can't remember if I commented on it, but you all did a fantastic job on it! I've always wanted one. sigh

Thanks Janet!
The HT Enclosure is one of our shoestring projects.
We have maybe 500 dollars in it including the tub and wiring.

Know what you mean about the money LOL!

I just browsed thru your remodels and will definitely be looking at them more in depth.
Simply Amazing!

I think your focus on heavy DIY and mine on smaller more novice friendly recycled tasks will work out perfectly.

I don't know why this thread didn't get watched, but I just saw your reply.

$500 is cheap for a hot tub! I wish we had the space to put one in. I'm more of a bath than a shower gal and would really appreciate a hot tub.

The kitchen has done a major transformation and I'm loving spending my time in there now. I find all kinds of reasons to go cook now. Even in the middle of the day! HAHAHA

It will be great when the doors are on the cabinets, but I can live with it this way for a while now that it's so much more usable.

The actual 'tub space' is only 8 x 8.
It's in an area that got little Sun so pretty hard to garden w/ anything but deep shade ferns.
The two trees are gone now that caused the major issues but...lol!

We bought the HT from a neighbor.
He had had it reworked and built a room around it off his house.
In their place it was a sunken tub.
They weren't using it much so decided to rework the space.
Sold us the HT AND all the lumber and patio stones from the room for 350.
As the Tub had a Home Run electrically we got about 40' of 6 gauge wire, GFCI and Panel too.

6 of us loaded the Tub and wood on a trailer and moved it across the street to the back of our place.
Tore down a section of fence and slid it in. (LOL like it was that easy!)

We had gotten a gas stove earlier and so had a 100 AMP Range Breaker and wire free.
Our friend's an electrician and we back pulled the wire from the kitchen thru the attic to the HT side and used that for our connection.

Here's the evolution of the tub from a bare space, to a soft side HT to the current model.

Know what you mean on the Kitchen.
We're reworking ours from recycled cabs and finding doors has been a challenge.
I'll probably have to make the missing ones.
I'm a bit router challenged but guess it's a skill I need to get better at...lol!

WOW! What an undertaking and you all did a beautiful job!!!

Hubby is pretty good with a router, but keeps telling me he just doesn't have the space to work to create the cabinets that he wants to put in, so we will "farm" that work out to someone that has the space to do it right.

Our next house will have plenty of space for him to work in a big shop!!!
