At a time, yes. Mostly.

But in a lifetime, some people have more than one.

Not me, though. One is enough for me.

A spice is a spouse and a spouse together. Frinstance: nap is a spouse and her true luv is a spouse and together they are a spice. It's very sensical when you think about it. Sixes are a sixpack. Eights are an 'enough'. Nines are.... hmmm... what are nines? I think it ends at nines cuz 10 just starts everything all over again. ps methinks we were very unimaginiative when we invented numbers cuz we stopped at nine.

Edification: A spice is just two and only two. If you are a spouse and you have more than one other spouse you would be a 'planting' or a 'set' or a 'kaboodle'. In that case a 'kaboodle' might be a 'harem'. WAIT nine of something might be a 'harem'. 'Harem' being either boyish or girlish or thingish.

Edification with coffee: But then how many is a 'gaggle' and a 'plethora'? ohhhhhh maybe they are plurals. ie. two 'kaboodles' are a 'gaggle' or three 'severals' are a plethora' or somesuch. o bother I'm confused now (snort). It's probably a gooder that I don't have to count anymore since we invented calculators.

Luv you too nap Group hug Hurray! for keeping track sallyg. I made some things into nines yesterday just to see if they were a 'harem' and discovered:

nine eggs look like they might be a harem
nine slices of bread definitely looks like a loaf
nine pots don't look they are a harem
neither do nine newspaper pages
BUT they all looked they might be a 'bevy' so perchance nine is a bevy. Go ahead make some nines and see what they look like... I will wait... Ears perked up!

I LUV it: a group of nine things is a 'party' Thumbs up

I usually wander off at parties or I end up with the kidlings if there are kidlings about. Methinks that kidlings are usually more interesting than big peoples.
