I have been getting "Bully Sticks" from Value Pet Supplies, and this place seems the least expensive of anywhere. These treats are cured strips of cow muscle, so they will not cause blockages like rawhide or similar treats can. These are still not cheap, but the company says they are hormone and other treatment free, and my dogs thoroughly enjoy them. I make the dogs work a little for them by hiding or placing in locations they need to think about how to get to, or maybe up high so they have to jump or pull a tree branch to knock them down.
Today they have 20% off and free shipping on many of them. These sales are repeated periodically.

cow "muscle" -- polite way to think of them! Actually, it's the cross-wound cylinders of connective tissue that make these a relatively long-lasting chew... Guys just don't like to think about it too much, LOL. A puppy might take a couple weeks to wear one to a nub (as with any chew, take it away if it becomes a choking hazard size). A "strong chewer" might finish it off in 15 minutes.

Petflow.com has 6 inch ones for 99 cents each. The description says from "grass fed bulls," and I called them for more info (it's their own brand)... the source is Paraguay, from a group of ranches they work with there.

The other really good thing about their bully sticks is that their scent is minimal -- not half as icky as the pig ear the breeder sent home with Dad's pup, which gave her stinky breath!

The rep I talked to further assured me that they sell nothing from China that could find its way into your pet's mouth -- maybe a lightbulb for your lizard habitat, but no toys, treats, pads, etc.

They also have cow ears for 1.99 -- US source, variable in size (I ordered 10 so saw a reasonable sample), but a good deal I think.

Also, they seem to have competitive prices on food, at least those I looked at, making it easier to get to some minimum for free shipping. You can also save an additional % on food if you sign up for auto ship, which might be something to consider.

I have used Petflow for a few years now and no real problems with their service. I like having the food delivered to my door and the prices are less expensive with the auto ship. Easy to change ship dates once signed up, should you notice food coming too often or not soon enough. They also carry just about everything, and since I use Solid Gold, which is not easy to find, it makes it much easier to get.
I probably wrote the introductory note above before I realized what bully sticks actually are. I don't cringe too much - parts is parts! As long as they are not mine. And it means more of the cow is used instead of wasted. For those that do not know, it is bull penis. There are also other types of chew sticks sold, including some tendon ones, I think. Some I got from Petflow were too dry and crunched away like a cookie, so they seem not all created equal. Others I got were fine.
Thank you for the information.
