This is happening here in Buffalo. A deer has apparently taken the role of protector over a mother goose on her nest.

I'd love to go see it for myself, but someone told me that a lot of people have that same idea and are trying to approach it. So she said they have pretty much roped it off, and are today setting up a "goose cam" to capture it all on film.

Here's the story including photos, as it appeared on our local news.

I just took a screen shot, cropped it, darkened and sharpened it.

This is 45 minutes later. I wish I had seen her standing, but I was off getting dinner started.

Here's a few more screen shots. The last one (not captured) would have been the deer standing behind the urn and with it's head looking into the urn! I was not coordinated enough to take a screen shot, because I was going back and forth to my editing program to paste each one I took. But I can see it in my mind. Wish you could too.

Oh My! Simply amazing! We have had tornado warnings tonight, so I have not been online. Since we are in between storms, I am going to at least look at the darkness of the goose cam Big Grin

Thanks for posting pix!

I haven't checked in a couple of days. I just looked now, after reading your message, and I see this update.

The Story of the Goose & Deer

We have a major update to this "en-deering" story we brought to you from Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The mother goose and her six or seven goslings have apparently "flown the coop" after they hatched in the past day or so. They were seen under the mother goose in the nest urn earlier on Wednesday but then were photographed leaving the nest and walking around the cemetery. So far there is no sign of the deer which was apparently watching over them.

A happy ending to a heartwarming story. Which made national news, by the way, and the internet - so - Worldwide.
