|well I know a tiny bit about it. But I believe and if I am wrong anyone out there correct me, that all the ones that grow on trees can grow on wood. It was 30+years ago.
The ones I saw had a little moss placed around their roots and then wired onto the wood, the moss was to help hold them until they attached to the wood. I do not know if everyone does it that way. The moss would rot away.
I do not remember what if any special/or different care was needed for the ones on wood.
Hope this at least gets you started.
