|Some orchids like to grow on mounts...or they simply attach to a tree. Here is how I do mounts:
I take the piece I am using as a mount and a bunch of damp spagnum moss and, using monofiliment, I wrap the spagnum to the mount. THEN I take the orchid (or the hoya, dischidia etc.), put it against the moss and again, using a heavier duty monofiliment, I wrap the plant and the roots to the moss and mount. Another thing you can use to wrap the plant to the mount is a strip from a 'thigh high' panty hose...cheapest you can find. It holds the plant and the roots, expands when the plant grows and doesn't cut into the plant. ....
I can take pictures if needed.
Leap. The net will appear.
