Well, Christmas is wet season for us, when there's heat, high humidity, rain, with fungus and mould flourishing everywhere.

It's all about choices.
It's our 'wetter' season here... the smell of mold, the mold on everything, even plastic molds around here!!!! Whistling

It is great to see that I am not alone in my fungi fascination. Your images are great.

Very cool. We get some funky ones in Florida too. Check this one out. This is not my picture but I couldn't find my own. We get these a lot in the wet season and they stink....Thumb of 2011-01-15/Dutchlady1/790a28

A friend of mine leaves huge fruit tree trunks near the bamboo in the shade...and the fungi get into the wood (called sporling or something like that) so when it is milled it is magnificently colored!!!

Carol, it's a "double edged sword", beautiful, but that mould gets in everwhere. Using it to colour up timber before milling it is very different.

Thanks Brenda, you are definitely alone!

Hetty, that one looks great. I'm always looking for the more bizarre and a find like yours would be tops..

More great photos Tropic. I enjoy taking pictures of "fungi" here as well on my hikes but I've never taken out the time to do any research on them. I just enjoy viewing and being in nature as a whole;-)Thumb of 2011-01-20/RachelLF/ae47bb

It's a jungle out there

Well, that is the effect I'm trying to achieve. This cubit is a tale of plants, of gardens, my continuing tussle with Mother Nature, and life in our tropics.
