Time for some more fun! We came from here: http://cubits.org/MidAtlanticMusings/thread/view/63038/ Rules of the game are simple... 1) Pick something - anything! It can be a color, a shape, the subject matter, the location... from the previous pic that you can link to your picture. 2) You can't follow your own photo. You must wait for someone else to post a photo before you can go again. This keeps it entertaining for all as we see what different aspects of the photo other people will choose. This photo of one of the buildings at the Getty Center in Los Angeles combines architecture, blue sky and curvy lines of the photos preceding it. ![]() Breathe in, Breathe out...Move on - Jimmy Buffett

Thanks for the new thread Barb! Great shot straight lines to match the curvy lines Eastern State Penitentiary ![]() It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

Barb, I have really enjoyed my visits to the Getty museum.

Thanks, Ronnie. Stormy, we've been going to both Getty museums for years now whenever we're out in LA. The villa in Malibu is not to be missed if you haven't been there before. The museum is just one of our favorite places to go when we're in LA and have some free time. It's hard to describe, and has to be seen to be appreciated fully, IMHO. The exhibits are first-rate. The views alone are worth the price of admission, as are the spectacular buildings, which are works of art themselves. It would be hard to say what I do NOT like about it. I always take tons of pictures when we're there. It's a great place to be around sunset, sipping a glass of wine, and just drinking in the view. On a fairly clear day, you can see all the way to the ocean and Catalina Island. Here's one from the Getty Villa, of the inner peristyle. It links to Ronnie's in that it's got LOTS of straight lines, and also (sorta?) picks up that neat aqua/greenish color in her photo. ![]() Breathe in, Breathe out...Move on - Jimmy Buffett

Stormy we got the prison tour as a gift last Christmas, I enjoyed it, didn't feel haunted but like the history. It was more hauntingly sad to me It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

Wow, That looks great Sheryl! When do you think it will be finished? Barb, Yes, I have been to the Villa too, but the last time that I was in LA it was closed for renovations. He left a tremendous amount of wealth to fund that foundation. Almost 20 years ago, I read that the foundation had to spend $3Mil a day to keep it's non-profit status. That is a wonderful photo of the garden pool. I think that he was building that villa for almost 10 years and never once slept in it. Ronnie, I would feel the same way about the prison.
