I am bumping this thread up!
I didn't know we had an indoor plant thread!
Most of you know we live in a third floor apartment, with a 6x12 balcony as our "garden".
So I have always kept house plants and tropicals... sometimes too many! LOL!

I have recently been ordering some Streptocarpus plants. I kept them a few years ago, and lost my whole lot to mealies more than a year ago. Streps are in the AV family and have such beautiful blooms!

I will post some photos shortly.

(Thanks Barb for starting the new thread!)

This is Streptocarpus 'Spin Art'... my all-time favorite.
Photo was from Jan. 2010... before I lost her! (Got it back now!)

Karen, I thought since the New Year is progressing, we should give your post its own thread, where you and others can share their indoor gardening exploits for 2012.

We came from here: http://cubits.org/MidAtlanticMusings/thread/view/67597/

Fascinating, beautiful pictures!

I have my Amaryllis in bloom in the bedroom at the moment. I am bad about getting them OUT of the garden early enough to get them to bloom before the spring blooms arrives inside.

such intense color! I was somewhat tempted today by a clearance oncidium, that would round out to give me three orchids of different kinds. My Phaleanopissis has done very well. Dendrobium not so much but I am confident the summer will perk it right up.

Love that spin art. What beautiful colors. I picked up a large white bird of paradise today. It was on clearance for $5.

Good deal Holly, Lowe's has the best clearances ever Big Grin
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

Every time I go to Lowe's, I always peruse what I call the "save me now" table!
I have adopted many a plant from the "save me nows"!
It's like seeing a box full of orphaned kittens on the street...
How do you just walk away???
