| Dear all, Phoenix had gone missing again and I was not too worried as she does that quite often. Then I heard a rustling and she has made herself a new bed in the magazine rack by the door to keep out of the cold wind! Whatever next? Regards. Neil. ![]() |

| Since the worst winter since Records began in the UK, I admit to getting very concerned about my tree ferns for they have never suffered such prolonged low temperatures as that! I have taken some pictures not long ago this morning and to my utter surprise they are now standing more upright than they were after being flattened with snow and ice. Here they are with some words from me. Regards. Neil. this was under snow not so long ago, then ice! ![]() Even one of the small ones that I was worried about has come back to life. ![]() These fronds were frozen inside the water pump for a ling tome, now look at them. ![]() These tree ferns or Dicksonia antarctica are only supposed to be hardy to 28 F and at 24 F lose there fronds. As it got down to 15.5 F in some places on some nights and lower in other areas they have amazed me. |

| Dear Linda, i don't think anyone let alone the tree ferns are enjoying this Grey and cold weather. It is miserable and depressing to say the least! Especially when you cannot go out as my hip hurts too much to risk it! Regards. Neil. |
| Sorry to hear your still hurting so much! Do you get any kind of shots in your hip, maybe some cortizone? |
| Dear Linda, no they give you nothing. Just tell you to walk and not to lay down to much and the nerve will un lodge itself! Regards. Neil. |

| Dear Charleen, it is still snowing in Scotland and some of the midlands plus Yorkshire but not here! It is cold, wet and miserable. Even Charley would not like this. Hugs. Neil. |
