I was fighting the Battle of the Buttercup today. It won. They are monsters this year, more than a foot high and rapidly advancing into the blueberries, around every shrub and tree I have planted and sneaking into the edges of every bed and path. I just have not had the wherewithal to keep them in check, and I'm paying the price for my negligence big-time.

Kate, I had meant to try that Bokashi thing with weeds, but didn't get all the materials in place to do it justice. Where did you buy your starter organisms? Also, what was your basic recipe? I was pondering getting a 25 pound sack of rice bran from the food co-op to help get it started, but was not sure if this was necessary. I need to do something different with this buttercup. When I toss it in a weed pile, it manages to keep growing and I wind up with a buttercup mound by the fence.
