| Anyone who ever went to a campfire as a child knows that those eyes were there, in the darkness, watching, hungry, evil...waiting to pounce if you step away from the light of the fire...waiting to ...bring about your worst nightmare...there is safety only in the flickering firelight.... made all the more enticing by roasting hotdogs and smores...and if you drop one...sling it out into the dark...for the monster to devour...a sort of offering, in hopes it will be satisfied and not come closer... |
