It's amazing what a group of people working together can make when their creativity is joined, and you'll end up with a quilt that is made by you and friends!!

Deadline to join the Round Robin is Feb 15th, and the first center should be sent on by the middle of March.
Make allowances for sending through customs (Canada / US) as this may add approximately 2 weeks - Tracking #s would really help and would be appreciated, but not required.

Total of 6 people - Me, and 5 others.
Particpants:
Susan / Tallulah_B
Becky / BusyBeckyQuilter
Pat / psychw2
Pam / GardenGlory
Angie / Hemophobic

Order of "send"
Susan sends to Becky
Becky sends to Pat
Pat sends to Pam
Pam sends to Angie
Angie sends to Susan

I have everyone's address, some emails and some ph#s

Directions -
1st is the Center - start with a 15 1/2"x24 1/2" inch unfinished center (or total of 80" - whatever you want for your quilt) -everyone sends theirs to the next person on the list
2nd round -everyone adds a 2" border to the quilt they are sent. Send to next person on list.
3rd round - everyone adds a 3" border and sends to the next person
4th round - everyone adds a 4" border
5th round - everyone adds a 5" border
6th round - everyone adds a 4" border and then sends back to the next person on the list who will actually be the maker of the center (the owner).

This is the order of who adds what size round to each of the centers:
Susan's center
Becky = 2"
Pat = 3"
Pam = 4"
Angie = 5"

Becky's center
Pat = 2"
Pam = 3"
Angie = 4"
Susan = 5"

Pat's center
Pam = 2"
Angie = 3"
Susan = 4"
Becky = 5"

Pam's center
Angie = 2"
Susan = 3"
Becky = 4"
Pat = 5"

Angie's center
Susan = 2"
Becky = 3"
Pat = 4"
Pam = 5"

As you finish a round, the next person on the list will always be consistent; you'll be sending each quilt to the same person. So by the time you finally get to the last round, you'll have worked on the quilt that belongs to the person you've sent to all along.
Each round can be appliqu├ęd, pieced, plain fabric or embroidered if you wish. It's up to you to decide what you can do and what you think goes well with the center.

*sigh* if you do not get your 5, let me know. I REALLY want to do this but until after 2/13, I'm going to be REALLY busy helping with getting my son & fiancee's wedding off the ground and I'm not sure how much of the actual work will be mine. But I REALLY want to do this LOL!

Thank you, Sharon - the corner pieces and the repeats are those that I started when I was in my 20's - didn't know what to do with them, until I had some more to go with them Thumbs up
They were "samples" from a craft book I had way back then (monthly crafting magazine). I still have those books - called "Workbasket".

I think I have my grandmother's old Workbaskets. I need to roam around in my attic anyway, maybe I'll find them. Smiling

I got a couple of sample blocks made last night for the couple to look at last night. I am going to be making a small table topper square about 17 inches with the borders for people to sign at the reception, then turn them into a quilt afterwards for them. We found centerpieces at a thrift store that I am going to re-work and place on the quilt blocks for the tables. I'll be busy! Somewhere for some of the wonderful Valentine fabric I"ve been collecting for YEARS to finally get used!

If you all don't mind, I'll just hang out here and lurk. My mother was a quilter, I've never tried, but just don't have the time to invest. Maybe someday I can give it a try, in the meantime, I just enjoy seeing everyone else's handiwork!

What a wonderful idea, Pat! I did something like this with my family - I did a center, then every family had its own block (12" square) to sign their names on, with the name of the family at the top. I haven't put them together into a quilt yet, and my sister passed away this past Sept. I need to get it done too......... Rolling my eyes.

Would everyone appreciate having the Round Robin start next month, instead of this month? That way the "end date" would be Valentine's day instead? The center would be in the hands of the 1st person to put a border on, by then.
Putting a border on would be relatively simple, and that's all you'd need to do is one border. Thumbs up

I can't participate even until after February 13, that is when son's wedding is so I'll sit this one out.

I got my very first ever paper pieced block done. I have 10 17 inch blocks pieced for the table toppers. Those have Stack-in-Whack centers that were given to me years ago. The next 10 or more will have PP heart blocks in the center. I think I'm going to do them up as quilt as you go so I can get the blocks "done" before the wedding and then just assemble them quickly into the quilt. Thumb of 2016-01-06/psychw2/d967e8

I'm not up for this right now either. I have the Antique Charm quilt and another on another site that I am doing along with blocks for QoV so I'm kind of stretched out . I'm also trying to stay away from postage. Mailing a block to someone is way less costly than mailing the RR pieces,,, And I am also in the middle of a ripple afghan as well that I work on at night. Can you tell I try to keep myself busy???? Smiling

That would be great - no, haven't gotten any participants - maybe I started too soon after Christmas....

Absolutely, Becky, you can join.

Now, I just need 2 more participants - we have four now, and need 6 to make it.
I'll update the first post in each thread, with Pat, Pam, Becky and me as participants.
I'm hoping to get back into our home soon, then it will be easier for me, but I'm raring to go - but can hold off for a bit if that would be easier - maybe another month? Thumbs up

btw - I'll need to have everyone's addresses, and phone #s so we don't lose touch. I can keep a database of your info. I have free long distance so can keep in touch with all participants.

Susan, I don't know how to contact you to give you the necessary information... I'm assuming there is a mail in this site so I'll look again and learn. Holding off a month would REALLY be a help for me but it might not for others. I'll go with the flow, whatever is decided.

In the eyes of a child you will see
psych3c, at the top of every page there is a link to C-mail. Or you can click on Susan's log-in name at the top right of this page. That will take you to her member page and you click on contact Tallulah_B.
What I don't know is why books are written.
