Here's the Bedroom.

We bought many gallons of paint at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store several years ago for $3.00 @ gallon. It was the high dollar Dutch Boy, textured paint.

I cannot remember what color this was. We actually mixed 2 that were similar so we'd have enough to do the whole room.

It's got a green tint to it and it has granite sand already mixed into the paint.

We bought Alabaster as the color for the trim.

That is what the room looks like now. When we first painted it, I had different decor in there and you can see what the color looks like with a different color scheme.

As you can see, the color works very well with different decor.

Moving along to the Office.

This is the same type of paint. Only in a pretty light blue color.

I think I was showing off my new computer in this photo for my mother. I built it on line and named it Lightning.

We thought one gallon would be enough to paint this room. We were wrong. We had to go and buy a gallon of paint at $35, getting them to match the color.

We used the same Alabaster color for the trim in this room also.

Man was this room clean! WAS being the operative word there!

I changed out the photo. I remember now that I was using an new Olympus camera and the photos were bad! I took it back to Best Buy and got a Sony instead.

This was the color of my daughter Hillary's room. You'll have to excuse the mess. Hurricane Rita had just struck and a tree limb had fallen through the roof. This was the only photo I could find of this color. I hated it! Everyone BUT Hillary hated it. She chose it.

She moved out shortly after the room was painted. So we changed the room colors when we did the repairs to the roof.

Once the hole in the roof was repaired, we completely re-did the room, adding crown molding, etc. and this is what the room looks like now. The rose color is beautiful. I'll have to see if I can find the paint can to tell you the exact color.

It was already in the paint. Yes, it makes a lovely texture on the walls. I cannot remember the exact name but it was made by Dutch Boy and was part of a Designer series. The paint was already mixed up (think Oops! paint in the box stores). I spent several weekends on the floor opening can after can. Must have been 300 cans of paint in the Re-store. I picked out about a dozen I thought we could use throughout the house. Some have never been used, but we did get quite a bit of good out of some of them.

OK, so we're still in the rose room. We now call that Granny Mutter's Room because that's where Mom stays when she comes down for the holidays.

This photo is just to show a closer shot of the color of the paint. This was my grandmother's monkey.

When Hurricane Dean was approaching, I went through the house and took photos of anything I wanted to be covered for insurance purposes. I got really lucky that I had so many photos before Rita. Our insurance covered every bit of damage we had. We have Allstate!

OK, now we'll move into the Front Room. I went on line to choose my color and picked Thyme. it looked beautiful in the sample room they showed.

Well evidently their room wasn't as big as our room because it's like a cave in there! I haven't put anything on the walls in over 2 years because eventually I want to re-paint this room. I'm just not happy with it. I've procrastinated and procrastinated putting any holes in the wall and finally figured out that I just don't love the color of the room. Crying

This photo was in the almost finished painting stage. I've got a slide show of the transformation of this room that I will post later on when I get it the new color.

I've posted a slide show of the below on Facebook so some of you might have already seen this particular project. To watch the slide show you can click on this link.

We've been working on painting a combination room we call the family room/dining room. It's been needing to be painted for about 20 years. Using the Habitat paint, we've tested several patches of different colors on the walls over the years and just hadn't come up with anything that we loved. Having custom made blinds in patterned colors made it difficult to come up with a specific color.

Many family holidays are shared in these rooms and I've always been embarrassed by the walls and carpets. Knowing it was a big undertaking, this room was put off until finally a few weeks ago I told my husband I really wanted this room painted before Christmas. I guess I picked a bad time to mention it with bow season just around the corner. But I knew if I didn't say something that more years would go by with it looking hideous.

So he made arrangements at the paint store for me to pick up 5 gallons of a color called Killim Beige and another 5 gallons of Extra White Ceiling Paint.

He mixed all of the primer we had into another 5 gallon bucket and began by painting the ceiling. He gave it 2 coats of primer. Then he primed the walls.

When I finally started taking photos the Killim Beige was already on the walls.

Hurricane Rita in 2005 - a tree fell on the very corner of the dining room. Some of the crown molding was damaged but had never been repaired.
FINALLY, that area over the fridge on the left was repaired and looks so much better now.

The used blinds that were missing slats on each end were also replaced with Jakarta Roman Shades.

I knew when we began this project that I was going to change out the decor in here. I also wanted to change out the bedroom, so I thought this would be a cheap way to "kill two rooms with one change". The decor in the family room came from the bedroom that started this forum.

Oh and the great thing is that because we primed the walls, we only had to put ONE coat of the Killim Beige on the walls. Therefore, we've got enough leftover to paint the front room. That is the next project!

Thanks Marilyn! I love it too. My hubby said many of the newer homes he's worked on have been painted in that color. I trusted his judgement and am so glad I did.

HAHAHAHA We're working on the "Hair Room" now. It was originally a utility room (7 X 15), and before we moved in it was a sewing room for the old lady that lived here. These days we do our hair there, but more than anything, it's Rick's "Man Cave".

He started working on it this past week... texturing (
