Zig...sounds like a great idea...how's it working so far? Have you thought of putting cardboard down on top of the leaves...in pieces it will allow water through it and decompose well....

Carol, Around here if you call Starbucks in advance they will save bags for you. Have you tried that?

Haven't tried that, but I did make an arrangement to come back in 4 hours and everyone promised...but gave it away anyway. AH...I just thought of a new possibility I haven't approached...will go there....

Convenience Stores with the coffee service have saved the coffee grounds for me too....

Zig...I think that Biochar (different from charcoal) would be a wonderful amendment for you...and Bonechar is even better. The stuff I get is made by the pit method which you could do yourself....
