Yes, and amen, hugs are always good! Group hug Group hug Group hug

Sandra: Gideon is adjusting to having Laddy here. There have been a couple of growls from him, but that is all. It won't be long and the two of them will be best friends, I am sure! Gideon has really missed Friday and I think that having Laddy around will be good for him. Laddy is really thin, though, and will have to be fattened up to a healthy weight but I don't think that will take long. We are feeding him a good brand of dog food so, hopefully, he will add some weight quickly and his coat will be shining!

Becky, so glad you are busy with painting again! You are so talented--what a gift the Lord has given you! Thumbs up

Oh my Laddy is adorable. I am glad he was rescued. My kids had their first day back to school today. Please remember to pray for the teachers. I know my youngest has been having meltdowns since getting back from seeing his dad. I am sure there will be similar situations for the teachers to deal with. Also keep me in prayer regarding finances. God knows the issues and I refuse to let them get in the way as I hav ein the past.

I even have it on my heading below where my town is.
I do try to live in peace and bring peace to others.
I didn't realize how many things it did represent, such as peace offerings and sacrifice.
Just means I need to study, doesn't it?? Thank you all for the encouragement... Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

Sandra, I did not see your request until this morning(Thursday) but I will post it for you and the others here in a little bit.
It will do all of us good to remind ourselves about WHO God is and about his unwavering character. It will strengthen our faith.
As I was typing the sentence above about strengthening our faith, I was reminded that all believers are given a measure of faith but it is how we put our faith to work in our lives that counts. I pictured a baby Christian with a little set of barbells with the word "Faith" printed on them. As the baby grows and matures(in the Lord), he or she gets stronger and the set of barbells gets larger. For me, it is a symbol of how we have to exercise our faith in order to strengthen our faith! Things like that are what stay in my mind--it is why Jesus used parables to speak to the people--parables are illustrations that people can relate to and picture in their minds. It is one way of remembering what we need to know.

In obtaining the graphic above, I went back to the mini-study on this cubit called "Power-filled Hearts". I re-read it and thought it might be good for all of us to re-read it (and the rest of the mini-studies, too). Here is the link:

I will try and make time this evening to study that one. I went to Wednesday services last night and one of the first things pastor told us was not to worry about money. I thought it very fitting for my situation.
I know I have asked some of you before to keep my oldest son in prayer. He is a drug addict and has been since his early teens. He is now 25. His other mother called me last night to see if I had heard from him. I had not and assumed he had been on a binge since he usually only calls me when he is not strung out. His other mother is a recovering addict herself and has been an extreme blessing to me because she "gets" him where I do not always. He always calls her no matter what is going on. She is the first to get a call when he is in trouble or sick. She is also his son's grandmother. She is often the go between for him and the ex. She has not heard from him since Christmas and he did not even stay to spend time with his son. His son's birthday is today. I know there is a little boy who is missing his dad greatly!! PLease pray that he calls and that he gives in to God's call for him to come home!!

He checked in on FB!!! I am so thankful. She texted about 30 minutes ago. I am always a bit fearful when we do not hear from him. I try really hard not to be but no mother wants the police to come knocking on their door.....

Maria, so glad you heard from him. Sorry it has to be the way it is, but God can heal drug addicts too and we will pray.

Cayla said "It is a BOY". I have already prayed it will be a man of God!

So glad that you heard from your son, Marie. My son was on drugs a few years back--ruined his first marriage and lost his business--but he is now drug free for 3 years and is remarried and he and his new wife and their family are all doing quite well! Praise the Lord!! Keep hoping and trusting that the Lord will deliver your son, Marie!! HE delivered my son and HE is no respecter of persons! Group hug

Sandra: Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! It's a BOY--so you will have two new grandsons in a few months! A praying grandma is a mighty force in the life of a child!! Thumbs up Thumbs up

Here is the list of God's names
Yahweh/Jehovah = The LORD Genesis 2:4; Exodus 3:14 (The word Lord should be written with a large capital "L" and the the letters o-r-d should be written in smaller letters but still in capitals. I don't know how to do that on this thread.) The ancients believed that God's name was/is so holy that they would not even write it with the vowels in it, thus it was written YHWH and they would not even pronounce it. According to Lester Sumrall in his book: The Names of God, the ancient Jews "took the vowels from the Hebrew name "Adonai"(Lord) and inserted them in the name YHWH to make YaHoVaH. (We pronounce it Jehovah.) Since this word is really a combination of the Hebrew names for "God" and "Lord", We might say that it means Lord God."

Jehovah-Elohim = The LORD Is God Genesis 1:28; Gen. 17: 3, 6; Gen. 30: 17
This name also means "The LORD Is Conqueror"
Jehovah-Elyon = The LORD God Most High Genesis 14: 19 & 20

El Shaddai = The Almighty God Genesis 17:1-3

Jehovah-Jireh = The LORD Will Provide Genesis 22: 6-8 and vss 13 & 14

Jehovah-Repheka (some books say that the name is "Jehovah-Rapha") = The LORD Is Healer Exodus 15: 25 & 26 Lester Sumrall says that this name comes with a condition. The LORD told the Hebrews that He would heal them if they did what He told them to do!! Sumrall says, and I am quoting here: "His promise came with a requirement, a condition that the Israelites had to meet if they wanted Him to heal them." Sumrall goes on to say that " Most people read the benefits promised in God's Word, but they fail to read the conditions attached to them. And that's usually the reason they can't figure out why no healing has come. " I'm just quoting Sumrall but I don't necessarily agree with that statement. We are told in the New Testament that we have been redeemed from the curse of the Law and that we just have to believe and exercise our faith. How many times did Jesus say, "Your faith has made you whole?" To me, the "condition" for healing is that we use our faith and really believe that God's word means what it says and says what it means. (OK, my sermonette is over-- Whistling )

Jehovah-Tsidqenu = The LORD Is Our Righteousness Jeremiah 23:6

Jehovah-Tsebaothe = The LORD Of Hosts Isaiah, 28:29; Isaiah 31:5; Isaiah 37:16 This is a military term meaning "God of Battles". According to Sumrall it is used 282 times in the Bible.

Jehovah-Nissi = The LORD Is My Banner (or The LORD Is My Sign Of Conquest) Exodus 17:15 & 16

Jehovah-Shalom = The LORD Is Peace Judges 6:24

Jehovah-Shamah = The LORD Is There Ezekiel 48:35

This is the list of names as mentioned in Lester Sumrall's book, "The Names of God". There are several other books that list the names of God. (I believe Kay Arthur has written one. ) I highly recommend that every believer read one of these books to familiarize themselves with God's names. These books go into much more detail about the meaning of each name. It helps so much to define the character of God through His names. Hurray! Thumbs up
