Image Finding furniture for your pets
By Janet Colvin on June 3, 2010

I was driving home one day and saw a loveseat on the side of the road. I was by myself and knew that if I took the time to go get some help, the loveseat would be gone when I returned for it. I stopped the truck and examined it.

You love your animals and they no doubt love you. I have a saying.......

You get out of a pet (or marriage, or job, or hobby, etc) what you put into it.

Rolling my eyes.

I thought I'd drop my jaw the night that photo was taken when Rick said, Let's see if she will eat at the table. Grace has NEVER stolen anything off the counter or table. She DID sneak some Sister Schubert's Homemade Parkerhouse Rolls I spent HOURS making for Thanksgiving one year. Only because while we were clearing off the table, someone set them on the piano bench and they were at nose level.

You are so right Nancy. I treat my dogs like friends and they treat me the same way. I have no doubt that Grace would lay down her life for me, if push came to shove and someone tried to harm me.

She watches the front door. It's funny because anyone can walk by on the road, but if someone drives up, or steps into the yard (such as the mail person) she gets out her BIG VOICE. I can walk right up to the door and she never moves a muscle. If my husband drives up, she barks to let me know. She's really an awesome dog!

Oh, okay. I laugh at mom sometimes too. Owww...Hi Tink! You're smilin' too. I love to play with other dawgs... Do you play ball? Here's me running in my woods with my ball. Mom fetches pretty good but it's not like playin' with other dawgs.....maybe I'll bring my ball over and play with you two.

Hi Inky! Yes, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to play ball. Around here, if it's round, it's mine!

I especially love tennis balls, but will also chase soccer balls and those big exercise balls.

Boy! You jump pretty high don'cha? Hey...have you ever played in the snow???...that's really fun too! Sometimes I like stuffed animals. Here I am with my animal 'Scruffy Bear'. Mom named him that because I found him myself...up in the woods. I liked him so much that she cleaned him up and sewed his arm on tighter and I play with him a lot. Our neighbor also gave me a little dawg I like....'bout the size of a baby bunny so I have to be real careful to bring her in so mom doesn't run her over with her lawn tractor (she does that to my tennis balls...but they jest fly out the other side...she says Lottiepup wouldn't)....Oh...our neighbor's name is Lottie (she's one of my girlfriends) that's why we named that toy Lottiepup...plus, there's a song for that toy (mom sings it but I think the BeeGees did it first). Come play in the snow sometime! I've got plenty of toys! you jest cain't chew 'em though.

Tink has only been in snow a time or two. We just don't get it here that often. Unlike the rest of the nation that gets snow by the foot, we feel "blessed" when we get an inch of it.

This was taken December 11, 2008. The most snow we've had here.

Wow! how far south are you...? Off the gulf? Didn't think it ever snowed that much there. Lovely picture, how long did it last? ...Inky LOVES to eat snow. Of course, we have to go outside more often then. I am the queen of fast on boots and bundling.

We're pretty close to the border of Texas and Louisiana (about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic). We're about 45 minutes from Galveston, and about 20 minutes from Sabine Pass.

It's truly a rare thing to see snow here. It usually lasts until the next day when the sun comes up. Then it warms up quickly.

We had an ice storm in (I think) 1997, if I remember right. The power was out for days where the limbs broke out of trees and landed on the power lines.

Since Hurricane Ike, we've not got a generator, so at least we can stay warm or cool.

It snowed last year right around Thanksgiving. We went shopping for some boots for my husband. My granddaughter went with us. It was snowing as we were driving down the road. That was a novel experience for me. I remember getting out of the truck at Academy and Jolie having her tongue out catching snow flakes. Of course, my camera was at home and I didn't think to use my cell phone. We made a trip to San Antonio a few days later and saw some cars with snow still on them. That was really strange.
