Connie (my sister) and I have a "bailiwick" that includes the 2 Goodwill stores here in Beaumont, The Treasure House (put on by a local church), The Salvation Army, the Goodwill stores in Lumberton and also Port Neches. If we're feeling really adventurous we head up to Silsbee after Lumberton and "do" the Goodwill store there. Once those places are done, it's time to go home. We used to go several times a week, but nowadays, try to limit ourselves to once a week. Neither of us needs a thing.

I remember my folks shopping at the thrift store on the base in San Antonio. I was just knee high to a grasshopper back then.
To this day, my Mom still does the thrift stores, but she also loves places like Big Lots and the Dollar Tree. Many times we'll hear in an email about what she buys.
I gues the old saying about the apple not falling far from the tree really is true!
Well, I am Partial to our Putnam Christian Outreach thrift store , here in Eatonton. You never know from day to day what you will find. I never have to go out and buy new crafting items because I always find something at the Outreach to work with , that has cost me very little, and yet every dime I spend goes right back into helping someone who is down on their luck, out of a job, elderly, or homebound! Now how much better could that be?
