Isaac...the Koas are really higher altitude trees...we planted 15 and one survived!! We are about 900' and 10 miles up from the ocean...no worries about salt spray....thank goodness!!!!

oh wow, so glad for you it survived! we are very close to the beach, so i know what ocean spray and those winds, oh the horrible winds, can do to a garden!

Not familiar with the Kona winds, Carol. i was talking about strong winds we get from the ocean, don't know if you get them there. sometimes it goes on for weeks at a time, and its not as strong as a cyclone, but it really damages the plants nonetheless.

Beautiful plants Carol!

You're garden is built to impress!

I noticed that you're not on DG anymore, and got worried. Hope that all is well.

Hi Carol!

I've been editing the PlantFiles in my spare time. I also got tired of staring at my weedy gardens and bought a 4-stroke weed-eater (no mixing 2-stroke oil & gas) and have been happily fixing up my gardens.
I've also had a childhood friend (Matt) move here from the mainland, and have been teaching him & his girlfriend about tropical plants and gardening.

Good to hear from you. Have a great day!
