I will post photos when they open. The tulip on the far right is a peony style tulip and has a strong scent of roses. All of these are tulips originally planted at least 50 years ago.
Very interesting Lynn. Please be kind enough to take pictures of everything: bud is great, stem is great, foliage is great, inside, outside, to the seeds if any and if you pull them out the bulb...
Thank you for theses first shots : is it for you a single early? Stem is dark, quite unusual. Strong cultivar as it is returning each year - which is not obvious - dont think it is a gesneriana. Well let's wait and see.
Thank you for posting htis.

Hello Boojum.
These are really beautiful. Could you please check if the stem is a bit darker near the flower? I like the shape and the color and as they are tall may be a darwin but I am not sure

In the meatnime if you want to see some nice pictures I do not have much time to post here but I am posting on the French Iris and Bulbs Society, the thread is 'Belles éclaireuses du Printemps' http://www.iris-bulbeuses.org/forum/topic2376.htm
Nice to see you and sorry I did not open Cubits since a while now.
Thank you Kelli for taking the time to load so many interesting photos. Where are the Descanso Gardens please? In your state? California?
