The Golfing Couple
By Janet Colvin (UniQueTreasures) on March 16, 2010
| This couple was created for one of the members of Dave's Garden. I met Linda at the first round up I went to in College Station in 2006. I had taken Penelope and the Elusive Butterfly and Maude, the Lady Golfer with me to show the folks there what they looked like "in person". We'd already posted photos of them in the Artisan's Forum on Dave's Garden. Linda said she wanted a couple because both she and her husband were golfers. |
The Golfing Couple This couple was created for one of the members of Dave's Garden. We had a lot of fun choosing just the right heads for this couple. I only had 3 of these beads. We liked them because we were able to insert the "hair" in the top through that waybigo hole and then weld it to the neck. One of the beads broke on us during the creation. It was a bit tense after that, but we were so pleased with the results when the couple was finally finished. We used German glass beads for their noses. The little beanie for the man was so much fun to create. Of course, we had to give him a few curls sticking out of the beanie.
Deciding how they'd be posed was another challenge. We looked on the internet for photos of golfers and studied their stances and musculature. Creating the socks and shoes for the man was a lot of fun. The beads we used reminded us of gargoyle socks. We wanted her legs and shoes to be more feminine. We used a pearl for the golf ball for the lady.
We really enjoyed creating this special couple for a very special lady. I hope you enjoyed seeing the photos of our creation. |
