"Oh give me a home where the Buffalo roam, where the deer and the antelope play." If you think that's only a song, then you need to meet Sandi. She's got one. It's in the Badlands, where Butch and Sundance reigned. She'll keep you glued to your seat in this interview.

Ha, Nap....how'd you know I love westerns?

And I love this story!! Thanks so much, Sandi, for joining our Spotlight tonight. And you thought you weren't interesting?? Come on, now...how else would somebody from KY ever know about branding calves and motorcycle roundups and 10,000 acre farms? Wow. I'm sure it's a lot of hard work, but how fun your life seems to me.

What a great story. You did good, Nap!
Now I want to see YOU out there in the saddle. OK??

Who? Me?? Blinking

Actually, I think it would be fantastic! Did I ever tell you that when I was a young girl, my friend who lived behind us had one of those log fences in her big back yard, and she and I used to put on cowboy hats, tie ropes to the fence and straddle the logs, pretending they were horses. Right now I can't imagine how that could have been fun, but it is one of my favorite memories. We didn't go anywhere! We were stationary! But it was fun pretending we were cowgirls, galloping through the sagebrush on our beautiful horses. Our imaginations took us all over the wild west!

I wonder what young kids today would think of that?

Well, Nap. I didn't have to have a log fence, I just rode my broomstick with my Dale Evans outfit complete with fringed skirt, vest and hat.
Still do. Ride my broomstick, I mean. The outfit doesn't fit anymore.

Yep, I always wanted a horse.

Hi Susie!
Our corgi's spend time herding anything and everything they can! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing The poor cat has to put up with them trying to herd her too! And they really are good at keeping track of the grandsons and making sure that they don't get into anything or go too far Rolling on the floor laughing They definately are characters! But they really love herding big balls! They will herd that all over and get so worn out chasing it we actually have to take it away from them! And unfortunately, neither DH or I know the right way to train them Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Corgi's are really unique in that they have to be watching us constantly, whether it's for direction or just in case ..... So they HATE closed doors if someone is on the other side and they can't see you Hilarious!
Love your pets! They are family too!

Thanks Vicki, so when are you coming to visit? We do live in a beautiful and varied country. I was in NC for a couple of weeks on vacation about 2 years ago. Drove down with Mom, and you have some gorgeous country too! I found it terribly interesting seeing all the different plants that we just don't have here, Smiling

Great to know you better Sandi, and you surely DO have an interesting life that I already knew a little about, and experiences that I didn't. Not sure I would put any of us on horses though. I think we all just oughta' pick up some Harleys (Miwaukee could use the business anyway these days) and ride on out fer the next Sturgis Rally! What about it Nancy, Sharon, Susie????...anybody else?... wanna' get a big ole tent an' DO it? Loved reading!

Sandi posted the dates in the article. I'd circle the dates on my calendar, but my husband just said he doesn't want me to go. He said there will be too many dangerous situations I could get myself into. But I think if we cling to Sandi like glue, we should be alright. You WILL cling to Sandi like glue, won't you, Jamie? Can I trust you to do that??

Heck, the bike rally isn't really all that dangerous anymore Rolling on the floor laughing Most of the old rowdy rally goers are old now :rofl
And my brother owns a campground, so just let me know when you're going to be here, and I can reserve you spots, or you can just pitch your tent in our yard Rolling on the floor laughing Or bring the RV or anything! Some fly their bikes in now on their jets even, cuz their butts can't handle the long miles Hilarious! Official dates are the 8th - 14th, but come anytime from the end of July on! So, how many can we expect? Whistling

Ha! Yep, having worked in management for a firm that produces HD parts, I am familiar with lots of riders that come out for the rally. Many are professional business folk (like accountants, engineers, docs, lawyers, consultants) who at the worst would kill the 'books'. Hilarious! That week though, is a highlight of their year.

(I still say NAP cain' ride her bike, an' I happen to know that Sharon has cycle 'perience)
