Wow. I could very easily sit at your feet and listen for hours, Joseph. You have so much to teach us.

Nap, you found a winner. He somehow reminds me of my Aunt Bett, it's the values, I think. Different time, different place, but the same values.

Thank you, Joseph. Your gracious humility humbles me and your insight into our culture amazes me. Thank you for the interview. We could learn so much from you.

And Ella, thank you too for pointing Nap in Joseph's direction.
I think I might just have to memorize this article.

I too can listen and learn from him. We do need more growers like Joseph.

If you want to see more pics of his fields, go here. Take s a little bit to load for dial up folks, but well worth it.

If you want to learn even more about Landraces and how Joseph grows things, go here to his website. I enjoy spending hours reading and re-reading his notes and observations.

he is so right. We are so focused on having the newest and prettiest and eye candy gardens, but there is nothing pretty than a field and rows of beautiful homegrown, no chems, vegetables.

Joseph. is one of the hardest working farmers I know of and he does work the land all the seasons.

Thanks for featuring him Nap. I think he has so much to offer so many folks. Thumbs up

Scooch over please! LOL

Very much enjoyed reading your story, from the way you grew up and all that you do now. It's a pleasure to meet you.
Well, actually I met you last year in the piggy swap and I hadn't heard of 'landrace' either until then.

We don't use chemicals either and although it's coming along much slower than we'd like, we hope to one day grow all our own veggies and fruits, with enough left over to share!! You are a wonderful inspiration!
