Then I would wonder whose hot house I had sleepwalked into and hope they didn't have security cameras.

“What if you slept
And what if in your sleep you dreamed
And what if in your dream you went to heaven
And there plucked a strange and beautiful flower
And what if when you awoke
You had that flower in your hand
Ah, what then?”

I don't know why this quote impacted me so. Just imagining it puts my mind in a beautiful state of peace. I love dreaming. In my sleep, I mean. I love remembering my dreams, though they usually allow me only fragments of themselves. Occasionally I will have trouble deciding whether something really happened, or if it was something I dreamt.

The dream I remember from last night was about having either a going away party, or a welcome home party, or maybe it was a reunion. I was trying to clean and unpack boxes and rearrange furniture before people began arriving. It was the anticipation of seeing old friends that made the dream so pleasant. The first guest to arrive (before I was finished and before I had gotten dressed, of course) was a lady I worked with who in real life just died a couple of months ago. In my dream I of course had no memory of her death, but when I woke up it was a good feeling that I carried away from the experience.

So the image this quote conjures up really intrigues me.

I rarely remember my dreams. When I do, they are muddled up and make little or no sense. I sometimes wake thinking that I want to go back and pick up where I left off ,but then am wide awake trying to figure out what I had been dreaming about that made me wish to get back to it. Shrug!

I have had dreams that stayed with me when I woke up, but those are very, very, rare for me.

Yes! So many, many times I've wanted to go back and finish a dream! I often just lie there and do it myself, until sleep gets the better of me and then it's on to other things.

But then of course you would probably dream a totally different dream.

If it were possible to get a glimpse of Heaven, even in a dream, it would surely be only a glimpse, which our Maker would allow to fade away and drift into fantasy. After all, "eye has not seen nor ear heard, that which awaits us ...."

Maybe we've been there and don't remember it.
