Discussion

List of Ingredients
12 ounces cooked ham Cut into bite-sized cubes or slices
1 pound asparagus, peeled (see below), slant-cut into about 1/2-inch thick slices
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or to taste
ground black or white pepper to taste
2 - 3 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup chicken broth or water
1 teaspoon cornstarch combined with 1 tablespoon water

Preparation
1. Heat wok, chef pan, Dutch oven or frying pan. Add oil, onion and garlic. Stir-fry over medium-high heat for about 1 minute.
2. Add salt and asparagus. Stir-fry over high heat until asparagus changes color, about 2 - 3 minutes.
3. Stir in ham and ground pepper. Add broth. Cover. Bring to a boil. Thicken with cornstarch mixture. Serve hot.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Over cooked brown or white rice. Tossed with cooked pasta. Wrapped in flour tortilla. Filling for pita halves........

PEELING ASPARAGUS
Using a sharp paring knife, peel, starting at the root end. The knife will automatically slide off when it reaches the tender part.
Now the whole asparagus stalk is usable.
