Note from the Diva
This is wonderful served as a side dish to Turkey, Chicken and Fish.
For me, this recipe fills 8 of the little squat 1/2 pint mason jars. |
List of Ingredients
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Water
16oz Fresh Cranberries
1 Lg. Granny Smith Apple, peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup Chopped Walnuts
1/2 cup Golden Raisins
1/4 cup Grand Marnier (I subbed 1/4 cup Orange Juice & 1 teaspoon Orange extract)
Juice from 1/2 Orange
Juice from 1/2 Lemon
2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Freshly Grated Nutmeg (I used Ground Nutmeg) |
Preparation
Combine sugar and water in large saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir in the cranberries and return to a boil; lower heat and let simmer (the cranberries will pop and soften as they simmer.) Stir in the remaining ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes longer. Remove pan from heat and let cool. Spoon into mason jars and refrigerate.
