!/2 of a medium sized green cabbage sliced very thin
1 pound of pork very thinly sliced
1 pound of raw shrimp, shelled, deveined, and cut into small pieces
1 package of egg roll wrappers, about 18 to 20 in a package
4 tbls oil, divided
4 tbls of sugar
egg wash for sealng the egg roll wrappers

In a large fry pan add 2 tbls of oil and stir fry the pork until brown. remove and set aside.

in the same pan add the other 2 tbls of oil and cook the cabbage just until it begins to get semi soft.

Combine the pork, cabbage, the raw shrimp, and the sugar in a large bowl and mix well.

See instructions on how to fold the wrapper on the back of the package. Fill the center with a generous tablespoon of filling and seal with the egg wash.

Deep fry the egg rolls at 365 degrees until nice and brown.

of course you can and you never have to ask my permission. you always have it. i thought with the sugar content it would not fit with your recipes.

well we could use a substitute sweetener perhaps. And while deep frying is not always good as a diabetic food I feel that once in awhile we need it to make us feel "normal" just not make it a daily habit.

Marti used to deep fry our catfish when she fixed it...she used a special batter that was so light and airy it was so delicious. Dang I sure miss her cooking!

when deep frying it is very important to have the oil at the right temperature. if it is to low the food will absorb to much oil and if to high it will burn the outside without cooking the inside. the best temperature to use is between 360 and 365 for most deep frying. for french fries i suggest 375. at those tempeature the food is seared almost immediately which reducesthe calories i believe

also, as in my low carb pancakes if you use almond flour instead of bread crumbs it may help and it gives it a slightly sweet flavor
