| For a couple of decades I have been collecting cookbooks published by Junior Leagues around the U.S. I have cookbooks from San Francisco, The Peninsula, Philadelphia, Boston/New England, Dallas, North Carolina, Hawaii and more. I have found MANY fascinating family recipes in these books.... great recipes. A couple of my favorites are an enchilada recipe from about 1840 Northern California family and a Christmas rum drink made with milk from an English friend recipe via Shanghai (1920s). Also, a pepperoncini cleaned and stuffed with a cream cheese, dill, shallot and smoked salmon cream. Green Rice _ Cooked rice mixed w/ one egg, chopped parsley, garlic, curry powder, sauteed onion and parmesan cheese.... baked. Fun recipes. "There are only two ways to live your life.
