I live in zone 10a and we start to sow warm season veggies in Sept. and cool season in Oct. (this month). In the summer the only thing we've found that has grown for us has been okra and boy did it grow.... You can grow in the summer theoretically with shade cloth or find unusual vegetables that do well in the tropics.
